Online Trading Courses, good investment?

There is nothing better than a free course. That much is clear. The question is if buying a trading course is worth the money?

I doubt they help much. Instead find yourself a trading mentor and learn strategies from more experienced traders live accounts. But make sure to evolve your own plans as you trade more.

Chances are low that you find good courses due to adverse selection problem - you are likely to stumble upon a 'heavily advertised' course rather than helpful one.

There are so many courses and mentorship online and I'm sure some of it is good.
But very hard to say which one is real and which one is just trying to scam you....

Only if you are confident in the course you want to take. Check what other people have to say about them. Find out what kind of company provides them, whether you can trust it. You can get pretty good basics in these courses.

Instead of taking up an online trading course, go for free online learning. It would have the same impact on your mind and you will also be able to save your money. There are articles and videos that share the same information as these popular courses. Save your money now and use it to trade later.

yes, but the good course lessons aren't free and can be very expensive.
Find out what your objectives are, do some research and pick the corresponding course.

A trading course can be an expensive proposition but also a profitable one if you learn how to trade successfully. There are also free resources available that provide valuable information, such as the school of pipsology on babypips.

the saying goes something like "those who cant trade, TEACH" I say you will be spending the same time trying to understand the course why not simply for for free courses and take baby steps with demo accounts, basic S&R and price action, and fundamentals, give your self a couple of months then go live, I started a couple of years back with hotforex and i did blow a few small accounts since then but hey im still here trading.

yes it is. Education is really important no way to deny , but after having good education level the result of trading can be useless. its the real fact.

Babypips free educational material is so much better than many other FX courses out there.
But this doesn't mean that one should stop at that, I suggest buying/renting books and reading as much as one can.
Risk Management is of utmost importance!

yes this is fine answer , from all education courses psychology of school from pips school is really effective to acquire all basic knowledge and experience. and this is completely free.

Most trading courses charge hundreds or even thousands of dollars for strategies that are already freely available online.
One example: many so-called “price action” methods taught in paid programs are actually based on simple concepts like order blocks and fair value gaps, which you can learn for free.
Here’s a quick summary of one approach I’ve seen taught in expensive courses:

  1. Identify a supply or demand zone (Order Block) on a higher timeframe like H1.
  2. Wait for price to return to that zone.
  3. Drop to a lower timeframe (e.g., M15) and look for confirmation, such as a break of structure (swing high/low) in the expected direction.
  4. Enter near the confirmation point, SL beyond the Order Block, and TP at the previous high/low or a key level.

Most online trading courses will only teach the basics. This is fine if you are be beginner but once you have learned the basics you will need a little more. Be very wary of paid for courses. Almost all will just tell you the same information that is freely available online. I find FX forums a better place for find strategies and 'real world' advice on trading. There are some good traders in the Forexfactory forum that show their strategies and results. I would look for those before paying for an online course.

Many moving parts here. For an absolute rookie? Not a good investment. Learn the basics first, get trading experience, try to at least imagine the depth of this sphere. And then you can invest in some quality educaiton. The only issue is filtering out a decent course. It's really like looking for a needle in haystack.

You are absolutely right, finding a decent trading course is the most important thing, and its so tough to find a good one. Everyone's a trading guru now, but most courses are just repackaged free content that you can easily find on Google or YouTube. What you actually need from quality education isn't just technical analysis or indicator setups, it's risk management frameworks, psychological discipline, trade journaling methods, realistic expectations about drawdowns and of course consistency. A good course teaches you how to think, not what to click. So, they will prepare you for losses, not just wins. Still, I believe you can learn most of the concepts including psychology ones online and throughout your own experience. You just need to start taking actions.
