Online Trading Courses, good investment?

I'm new to forex trading and I've seen a lot of different online trading courses offered by websites and trading schools. I was wondering if anyone has taken any online trading courses and how your experiences trading have been since you took the class. If you have any good trading lessons you know of please let me know, thanks.

Read the James 16 threads right here at FF. If that methodology makes sense to you, which it should, consider the James16 Private Forum.
Also read the stickys at the top of the Beginner Q and A. They include many links to tutorials, webinars etc. There is more than enough info on this forum to keep you going for a long, long time.

I am not affiliated in any way with the company or instructor, but I highly recommend the Elliott Wave course offered by Trading Post and the instructor, Jody Silver. I am just finishing the month long online support phase (first month is the course with online portions of instruction & Q&A - the second month is looking for setups live) and have absolutely nothing negative to say about it - only positives!!

My overall confidence has improved tremendously. I would advise anybody interested in learning about market patterns to at least check it out:

They do have free information chat sessions for those who want to learn more. Not sure of when but contact them for more information.

In most cases yes, you are correct! But then any trading course worth the money will also have an element of trader support (coaching / mentoring)... this is worth it's weight in gold imo.

Ask the majority of pros out there - many of them still use a trading coach/ mentor even if it's only a few times a year.

I would also like to add: If this were as easy as just cruising the net piecing all the free information together then we would all be millionnaires by now!

Very True. You can find anything on the net for free. But sometimes it is worth a little money to have information presented in a logical fashion along with the benefit of a coach or mentor. Some folks find it more practical to pay for a structured course than to try piecing one together. After some sort of structured learning you may be better prepared to sift through, and make better use of the stuff that's out there for free.

Of course there are a few people who are entirely self taught and doing well. If you are part of that small few, that's terriffic!

I certainly see your point there, 100%. However, I think if you spend 2500 on a mini-account, and learn yourself, you will be ahead of the game.

Think of this: If a mentor is going to cost you that for a course, or a weekend, then you learn some things.....then you spend hundreds of dollars learning how to "really do it". There is a learning curve, even with those guys.

Call me cheap, but I would rather stretch that 2500 as long as I can, instead of paying it, and then losing a bit more.

Besides, there are a lot of shady people out there selling systems, training, etc., who never made money doing this.

Although, somewhere on this forum (I think james16 forum) I read about a guy who says he goes long if the dog poops in the S.W. corner of his yard! He shorts if it goes in the house.

For whats it worth, my 2 year old son has made 3 trades for me when Daddy wasnt looking. (In last 6 months)

Hes up about 12 pips......

And to think I have been trying to learn this market......He must know something about the Aussie/Dollar pair that I don't.

I am hoping that when hes old enough to think about his trades, it wont screw him up!

I don't think it is important to get paid for forex course when the web has made it simple for us to learn it. Despite the fact that there may be a few preferences if some paid for the forex course yet to I simply don't think it is fundamental. Workshops are the most noticeably bad to go to in light of the fact that when you go for a seminar,they will just show you a few sections of forex. At the end it is also the choice of each trader.

Generally most of the trading courses in online are found to be scams , so be careful when choosing a online trading courses paid or free.

the trading course we find in online is very much supportive for the traders who are above all beginners , but most of the courses are paid and majority of them are found to be scam , i prefer mostly psychology of school from all. its very informative than others.

buying course is a good choice as they probably kind enough to teach you from what they had suffered before. learn the basic and do backtest. they will never tell you how market always go against you

Online courses can be very helpful in learning to trade. It is possible to gain an idea about many analyzes by doing online courses.

i didnt take a course i got a mentor ... for me much better 1 to 1 coaching... at least i can keep annoying him with questions etc haha

It is possible to gain experience by completing an online trading course. Because without experience it is not possible to become a professional trader. So online courses can help a lot in developing trading skills.

I took the pipsology course on babypips, don’t think without the basic knowledge I got from there I would have had the confidence to get into real trading. It’s important to get a solid base, can be from anywhere, books, podcasts, online courses, etc.
