i wonder who does day trading bitcoin on FTMO MT5.. there the spread is about half of 20ADR.. 20ADR about 800.00.. so spread on normal days even after TO/LO is 400.00

i don't know whether this is just me or just MT5.. i hope it is just me so it can be corrected again like my previous wrong leverage on silver

edit: comparing to the spread on icmarkets it is like between 5.00-15.00... so ftmo mt5 spread is definitely too high

I don't have ADR, but the spread on MT4 bitcoin is around 420, about 1/12 of today's range...

hmm... thanks for your post, pointing out my mistake which is that i just realise there is 3 decimal place on FTMO MT4 and MT5 while Icmarkets has 2 decimal place.. haha

here is an attachment showing FTMO MT4 Demo (on top left), FTMO MT5 Challenge (on top right), Icmarkets MT5 real (on bottom)..

anyway the spread at that moment which is 22 Nov ~7am UTC+7 shows that FTMO has spread which is about 4x than icmarkets....

my 2 cents.. the following is somehow biased as i'm dividing ftmo spread with icmarkets 20adr... and mostly it is because i do not like to use ftmo D1 calculations as it has sunday candle... if i were to divide 42.080/791.87X100=5.31%.. from past observations, this is similar to icmarkets exotics spread.. 5% is still be tradeable on H1.. ok.. anyway, from my previous post, icmarkets spread is between 5.00-15.00, so it is about 0.63 - 1.89%..

p.s 20ADR is from free JFADR indicator here(FF).. check out my files.. also careful when applying free forex_spread_meter indicator here(FF) as i got my mistake from there due to an extra decimal place.. haha..

at this moment, FTMO cTrader Bitcoin spread on weekend is 35-40 USD. While on popular crypto exchanges buy-sell order differences (spread) are around 20-40 USD. ETH is 1-1.5 USD in spread.

Hi again Traders,
Rocky14 and Ria10 came to this forum accusing us of all kind of things, claiming that we manipulated their trading results and changed password to the Challenge account to deliberately fail the account. They have since deleted their posts but some of your replies to them stayed on the forum, so I would like to clear this issue up.
Let me assure you that we do not engage in any such practices. PW changes are carried out only upon written requests sent from the email address registered with the specific account and all cases where clients report that the MetriX results are wrong are investigated and breach of the Max Daily Loss or Max loss verified by calculation of the exact account results at the time of the breach (we have timestamps of the recorded breach time and max DD values). The analysis is sent to the trader and explanation of how the account was breached is provided as well. In the rare cases where an error in the MetriX is uncovered, the MetriX is corrected, account duration is extended for the number of trading days lost due to the investigation and the trader continues to trade the account. I’m not familiar with the specific cases, but the processes we have in place make the situation as described by Rocky14 and Ria10 impossible. These were in all likelihood just false accusations.

In your recent posts, you were discussing the spreads on XBTUSD. The spreads at the moment are around 0.25% of the BTC value with no commissions on the trades. We are aware that the spreads are somewhat higher than what some other top brokers offer at the moment and will try to improve the conditions in the future.

We have just won the 1st place in the Rising Star category in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Competition. We have won this prize 2nd time in a row and needless to say, Deloitte is a renowned company and have done multiple audits of our company throughout the time as part of their due diligence. Hello Propftrader, As far as I’m aware we are not planning to offer zero commissions on forex pairs again. We have acquired multiple new high-quality liquidity providers and have to pay commissions on the trade. The trading conditions (spreads, etc) on our accounts running on the new liquidity pool setup are much better than they used to be, but this change also brought some extra costs for us. Nothing is written in stone though, so there might be changes in the future.

Hello Skyf, we do not accept direct Bitcoin payments. Traders can pay for the Challenge via Skrill though and for most countries, Skrill can actually intermediate the btc payment. Please read more at https://www.skrill.com/ if you are interested in this option.

Hello Akamrp, It is our standard procedure to carry out thorough checks of each FTMO Account due for Profit Split prior to contacting the trader with information regarding the withdrawal. In most cases we contact the trader the next business day after his/her Profit Split Day as we need to wait for the results for the whole day to be in and then check the account. If the Profit Split Day is on Fri/Sat/Sun, it is possible that we contact the trader on Tuesday rather than Monday as we are always quite busy on Mondays catching up with the weekend workload. You can, of course, send us an email to check.
Profits are always sent in the same currency as is the FTMO Account base currency, so the invoice has to be issued in the same currency too.

Hello fx11trade, thank you for bringing this up. We have our server maintenance brake setup at 23:00-23:05 from the summertime period and it hasn’t been realigned since the time has changed to wintertime. I have consulted this issue with our management and a change should be made during the upcoming weekend. Once the change is done, the market closure at 23:00-23:05 fill be removed. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Yes, same conditions apply to qualify for the repeat. Note that you get to repeat the evaluation process from the Challenge again, not from Verification.

1) There should be no issue with such trades. After each stage (Challenge and Verification) is complete, the trades on the accounts are thoroughly checked and if we uncovered an issue with the specific strategy, we would let you know. In the unlikely scenario you passed a Challenge and traded in accordance to our rules, but your strategy would not be replicable, we would ask you to change the strategy or offer you a refund.
2) The accounts on MT4 and MT5 are using same liquidity providers for absolute most of the offered instruments, so the conditions are the same. The reasons for recommending MT5 can vary but generally go for the reasoning that the MT4 is quite an old platform and MT5 has some technical advantages over MT4 as it is built in a different way. Please do your own research to find out more on the difference of MT4 and MT5.
3) The exact terms have not been decided yet, but I believe there will be some extra days granted for Challenged and Verifications running through the Christmas. More details will be announced later.
Reply to KarlKraus: As far as I know, there was no question for Christmas extensions asked in the forum this year yet. If you saw one, feel free to link it. In case I missed it, I apologise for not addressing it before.

For others: So often, people are asking for proofs of us paying profits, but anytime someone comes out, he is received with the accusation of being paid by us and so on. In today’s tech era of deep fakes, any proof can be dismissed as fake.

1) 12 FTMO Traders acquired a $300k (or equivalent in other currencies) maximum capital allocation during October. The traders that have been trading their $300k accounts for longer were not counted into this statistic.
2) I’m not sure whether the overall success rate improved since the last time it was measured, so I can’t provide exact answer here, but it will be somewhere around that ballpark. I will ask whether we can provide more statistics, but can’t make any promises.

hello Driven18, The rule has been designed in the past when our FTMO Accounts did not have live execution model and never incurred any slippages. As the live master accounts connected to the FTMO Accounts often incur slippages on highly volatile moves, we had to have this rule in place to prevent the most significant discrepancies between the FTMO Account results and results on our lives. Furthermore, we want the serious traders with statistical edge on the market, not the traders who like to gamble. Trying to guess the news outcome and plying it in the market is very risky and thus this rule is preventing inappropriate risk taking to a certain extent. Since we now have live execution on all our accounts, this rule might be revisited and adjusted in future, but I can’t really provide any guarantees or details at this point.

Hi Moodybot. Just to clarify, during Challenge and Verification, there is no limitation at all in regard to News releases. Traders also have to be trading in accordance to a real market (https://ftmo.com/en/faq/what-is-trad...a-real-market/) As said again, these rules were designed at the time when our accounts had demo-mode executing with no slippages, so some of these rules are protecting us from the situations that should not be possible anymore and might be revisited, but for the time being still stand as specified.

Hello Snail69, we definitely plan to have the equity tracked as well as the balance. The issue with that it is incredibly demanding on the technical infrastructure to track all of the accounts in the real time. So far, we do not have a solution ready yet, but it has been in development for a while now. We expect to be able to track the equity sometimes in 2021.

Hello Dsw1. I can’t give a definitive answer to your question as I do not know your account’s specifics, but all trading platforms allow to view the specifications of each instrument. Please review the specifications of each instrument you are trading and look for the trade hours. If you see a market closure longer than 2 hours, you have to close the position in this instrument prior to such market closure.

Hello MoRTaL, During the Challenge and Verifications, there are no limitations on executions during any news events. Active scalping of the news (falling under Trading according to a real market https://ftmo.com/en/faq/what-is-trad...a-real-market/) has been prohibited as on the demo accounts with no slippages, you could just set limit orders both ways with super tight SL and catch catch the big move entirely with next to no risk.
1) During Challenge and Verification, you are fine in such situation
2) Once trading an FTMO Account, there must be no execution (whether manual or SL/TP/limit order does not matter) on the instrument during the 2 min prior to and 2 min after the prohibitive news release. Note that the prohibitive news releases are highlighted with blue background in our economic calendar. Some might have yellow importance by FF, not red, but that is not decisive. News in blue background fill are restrictive to FTMO Accounts.

Hello I-5, I’m sorry if our support team gave you incomplete information. You can always reply to us again giving us more specific details about your concern to prompt further response. Generally we do not want to give any specific advice in these matters, but many of our FTMO Traders who have issues with banks in their countries (Russia, Lebanon, etc) have set up accounts with either TransferWise or Skrill and so far we have received no reports of any issues with these companies.

Your experience is different than mine. Crypto markets completely stop functioning on the weekend. DOM/chart data disappears and cTrader says "no price snapshot".

This is really a shame since I counted on crypto trading being available during weekends when I decided to put up the money for FTMO challenge. This is 28% of the value gone; more, since my schedule during the week is busy. I also have some disability issues, and when dealing with a flare-up said "I will not trade when not in good condition, but will wait until the weekend and trade crypto"; well, now I'm a few more days down out of the precious 30 in the challenge and feel like a fool for relying on that.

I reported it to support but they said "no one reported issues". I was able to demonstrate it again this weekend with live support and am waiting to hear back from the department that can actually do things.

I've also had issues with market specifications randomly changing, or "scheduled maintenance" not in the schedule. All told I've probably lost a full week on these issues, either blocked from trading, random changes ruin my trading plan / risk management, or waiting for support. I requested that time be restored to my challenge but so far the only response I ever get is "it's fixed now" and they don't answer that question. Support (who were very nice) indicated that perhaps they were waiting to hear confirmation it was resolved and then they would address it, so I really hope so.

My suggestion to FTMO is they consider empowering some support who can investigate in depth during US market hours.

No reason to believe the conspiracy theories that they are trading against the user. I fully believe these are connected to genuine liquidity markets. But, interestingly, each of these incidents has happened when there was a strong directional trend or fundamental catalyst in the market.

As a side note, MetriX updating intermittently now (it's been half an hour since my last trade and still shows "daily profit: 0.00"; no, I haven't violated any drawdown). Best not to rely on it or one could blow one's account.

I really want to like FTMO. My hope is to build a long working relationship. Really believe they want everyone to succeed. But my experience so far has been that the system is not reliable, and time lost in the challenge to these issues is not restored.

I'll provide update with however this works out. My hope is that we're able to work something out, and that the reliability improves.

They did also ask for logs at the time. I just noticed that, and will be providing those once I get to that computer.

Didn't notice at first since, as I said, there were a number of different reliability issues. I also thought everything had been fixed once they told me they'd fixed the market specifications. But I guess this was a different issue.

Probably a moot point now that I was able to confirm it with a live support rep (who was very nice but couldn't give me any information). I hope that the issue can be fixed and the lost time restored. But I wanted to update fully in complete fairness, and doing a new comment so it doesn't show "edited".

What's your general strategy prior to entering the challenge, is it:

- Spread the profit evenly during the +/- 22 days of trading;

- Aim for big shots only;

- Other strategy

what do you need more stats for? They've given failure rate, pass rate, total funded traders (which keeps growing), etc

what more do you need? I suggest you go over to the website and ask the live chat rep for all these statistics because it seems one or two more won't be enough to satisfy your curiosities. They'll have all the info there.

These is most sofisticated bussines than casino, members who have 2 grams of business experience need's to understand these to ask for such a data is same as you goo in local store and you ask the owner: How much profit you make!? Dose these make sense ! I have mentioned these once again before the house est FTMO always win if you lose challange they will get the fee for evaluation (here is the large portion of win around 97% win rate) in other hand if you pass the evaluation you will be honored member of the House and again they will get the 30% fee so that's it all

FTMO gave us nice insights this week. The only other stat I would of wanted to know is:

What is the percentage of traders that loses Funded Account privileges and on average how soon the loss of Funded account occurs.

This is to compare my success against others Funded Traders.
