if i have a decent strategy with a win ratio of only 50/50 and i risk 5% of my capital in each trade with a risk to reward ratio of 1:2 and use a leverage of almost 26x ( which means, i'm trading 26 times of my capital each time) i can make over 1000% profit after 100 trade !!! so in my opinion it is 100% possible to make 20% per month or 1000% per year

The point is to have an edge. If you have a statistical edge, then yes you can risk more to make more. The percentage comes with the risk you take per trade. So to answer your question, if i had an edge, I would have probably earn way more than 20% per month, because I would have risk more per trade, before my edge vanishes. In this case, the Pros edge.

I guess the first step is to try to find an edge. Then adjust your risk

I think 20% is a good month.
But not every month is a good month.

20% a month compounded would be a crazy amount after a few years, that's pretty much impossible... The best funds out there do 30-50% a year.

Hey, sorry this is my first post. Not new to trading forex.
20% is extremely doable. 40-50% every WEEK (200% per month) is not even beyond the realm of possibility for captain hindsight. The movements are there. That being the case, I would advise against monetary goals since your results will depend on your abilities combined with market volatility. My suggestion instead is to focus on 4 metrics:

1. how many pips a movement had vs. how many you caught. If you're currently capturing 10% of a move work to get that to 15 or 20%
2. how many setups occured vs how many you executed. Identifying them does no good if you don't pull the trigger.
3. how close to the setup you executed (were you early/late? by how much?)
4. how many of your trades were WITH the larger trend vs. against (as measured by connecting previous peaks or previous valleys with trend lines)

These metrics are the fundamentals of trading just setting up a zone play or getting rebounds are fundamentals of basketball. More rebounds equals higher chance of winning the game. More well executed plays equals higher chance of winning the game. It's a mistake to focus on winning the game when you can just focus on improving the execution of your fundamentals.
