No problem. If the short term result is promising, we will certainly do it.

Yeah, that's ok. Looks like your confidence is based on testing result, not just concept. . I am looking forward to those information.

BTW, please let me know if you prefer to keep it private. But in that case I will still have to share it (by email) with the developers and testers here in this thread, just to ensure the quality of the EA.

Man, 100 pips SL and 8-24 pips profit will get you no where. That means you will have to win about 4-11 times more than loss to break even. I would maintain a healthy 1:2-3 risk return ratio.
Ignored
Aha,

I understand what you meant by healthy ratio. I too took this money monagement seriously when searching for systems for months until two months ago. On August, I started to try LBT and got 100% winning rate for three weeks for my live micro account. I'd learnt from this framework that if I prepared my money management strategy based on winning rate such as 60%-80% (20%-40% bad trades,) I always must keep 1:2-3 RR ratio. But when my mindset was right and expected only good trades, my mindset could tolerate 1-5 fold of potential drawdown from target and left enough room for market to swing back to my original target. This gave me 100% winning rate.

In my TD-Combo's two months backtest, about 20%-40% of the trades were not closed right after opening. There were about 1-5 trades (short and/or long) were opened and closed before above trades hitted their original target.

My conclusion is there is no holy grail (100% winning rate) in this world and maximum winning rate will be 80% if I keep my 1:2-3 RR ratio.

I'm not saying that this is for everyone especially new traders. What I mean is if one's mindset is well prepared, he/she can choose strategy of either 50% winning rate with 1:3 RR ratio, or 99% winning rate with 5:1 RR ratio.

Yesterday I took a quick manual backtest for TD-Seq's complete countdown for 1-min chart for last three days. The target was same as 5-min and there were 7-14 valid countdowns per day. The result was 99% winning rate for 5:1 RR ratio and 50%-70% for 1:1 RR ratio. The 1% losing trade was because one trade's 8pips target was hitted but not 16pips target, after a 50pips potential drawback. So practical cut lost was about 20-30pips for this trade if it was traded real-time. Practical reward was 5 (average trades for half day) x 11pips (average target price after spread deduction) x 3 days = 165pips.

TD-Combo's complete countdown was too few (about 1 per 1-2 days) for me to test.

Hoh

P.S. In case you are curious about my LBT trades, I temporarily holds it for pure LBT application. I'm now searching one indicator/price pattern to combine with LBT because my mindset was not ready when I raised my trade size 30 folds of my initial 100% winning rate live test. (This was my serious mistake but I'd learnt that my mindset was not ready for this big of trade size.)

aha. your Pinbar AHA 0.2.mq4 doesn't seem to work for USD/CAD pair on the daily chart.

it's very weird, but it works on the weekly and monthly charts, but not on the daily charts.
it doesn't show the pinbar or I4B indicators on the daily chart.

I have been following this thread since the beginning and just want to make a comment.

I want to thank Aha, Phoenix and everyone for all the hard work and then sharing the results. It is rare to follow a thread where the guys posting on the first page are still working and posting on the last. You all have set a model here by which others could learn. Please continue to improve on this ea. I have been trading the mouteki system for a few months and believe this ea can be a great one.

Great work everyone

Thanks

PS: I would help forward or back test if you need more help.

Here on the Pacific coast of the US we call it the "Midnite Express" as the London Open takes place at Midnite. I did a manual forward test for a month with more details at this link. I think i've even seen an EA out there for the London Open/Big Bend strategy (i have the Big Bend PDF file at the link also.)

Thanks Melissa. Honestly, I improved my trading a lot in the process of hacking systems. I hope everyone shared their effort here also received something.

You are welcomed to test anything here. Just let us know what you are planning to do so not too many people repeating your effort (I think more than three people testing the same pair is a waste of effort).
