Sadly for John Fogerty he does not own the rights to any of his early songs as the record company at the time took control of those rights (a common practice it seems in those times).
His song Fortunate Son has been used widely before in all kinds of movies, video games and even ads.
Wrangler Jeans used the song at one stage in an advert and then heard John say publicly he wasn;t happy the record company gave the rights for the song to be used in ads - so Wrangler respected his wishes and cancelled the next series of ads. Well done to Wrangler.
