I do not test the EA from flowerhorn in and out. I keep trading this manual, because not that many task to keep this running.
Hope flowerhorn can go deeper to the questions that are around the EA.
Market is more simple as you think.

Hello MichaelSch,

I have been following your thread from the beginning. Hope all is going well. It seems like your strategy is still holding up well. Can you share some of your results for the last few weeks? Also, why did you decide upon the EUR/USD pair over other pairs? Is there a specific reason? Do swap rates greatly effect your strategy or are they not something to really worry about?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks,

dabeach

Question 1 (posting results): I have post results at start of thread and will this turn not in showcase how often TP is hit and my floating loss. Trade yourself and get YOUR results bad or good.
Question 2 (use of EURUSD): This because EURUSD is a more "stable" pair and the spread is relative low.
Question 3 (Spread): Do thread search, i post in the past to this question.
Market is more simple as you think.

Simulation test results for half a month,
Still testing, EA is only semi-automatic and will be manually intervened.

hi. i am getting this error with ea. ne1 else having it? {image} i have startcloseprofit at 30 and grid of 10 . could that be it? only happens on eurusd. have it on eurusd and usdchf on one terminal and euraud/audjpy in another. only happens in eurusd( same settings all)

It happened because of big slippage in the EURUSD pair at the time of closing. I have set the slippage to 4 pips. That means during this time, with a grid of 10, the closing price of the all of the trades only gave you 60% of your profit for each trade.

Hi, I had been testing this strategy using the EA that has been provided. Following is my analysis which may help someone: - Opened GBPJPY buy and sell - Buy took profit, opened again in both directions. - came to a point that we had 5 buys opened and closed at tp - we got a retrace of 20 pips, last sell closed with tp - EA did not close the first sell (which is the furthest negative trade) even though profits were made due to 5 buys and one sell closed in profit. - But it closed the last buy, because EA considers BUY as one grid and SELL as another...

This is a very interesting event. I have tested the EA inside out and failed to find this occurence. The only explanation is when this took place, the spread must be real big. Try testing with different pair and at different time for the GBPJPY pair.

The EA WILL close the trade( BUY or SELL trades don't matter) with the biggest loss when it have enough closed profit. That is the logic programmed into it. And please use different magic number for BUY and SELL trades.

I have attached this EA for debug purpose. You will see LTick in the display panel. This LTick is the ticket number with the biggest loss. If the ticket shows up in LTick, it will be closed when enough profit is banked in.

it only happns after certain amount of time apparently .. dunno if its broker messing it up.. please advise. when this error comes i increase startcloseprofit and error stops but onces it gets there it gives error again.. anyway to increase it or have it NOT have a slippage filter to close the order? thanks

btw i found out that is better with this system NOT to trade highly correlated pairs. i am getting excelent results using it in basket mode in 4 pairs. where none of the base or quote currency gets repeated .. i.e.. eurusd, audcad, gbpchf, nzdjpy.....

Hi,

I think it would be more interesting to place only stop orders in both directions (with TP).
It would reduce the DD, if the stop orders opposite to the direction of the market are not activated.
Only Stop Order in the direction of the market would be activated.

And with each movement of the market we add stop order on both sides to always follow the markets.

I started the EA from Here I got the two orders. Nothing happens the price just goes up an down. I set the EA to show me the stop losses which float around with the price. What do I do now? Will the EA allow a virtual TP to hit forcing me to manually add in an order to replace the exit with?

{quote} As said my english is not the best, but i will do my best to answer. I do not get full what have you writen, so go again in the setup. I have above and under the price action all pending order. If price is at say 1.13 i have build many pending order above the price and many order under the price. 200 - 300 Pips in both direction. Now i am waiting for price reaching my orders get filled and closing in profit. If i see some trades are closed in profit, i go and set again the initial trades back in the "fishnet". Also the trades i take out...

Hi All,
New to this thread which I intend to read fully this evening. I have been interested in Grid trading and believe there is a way to make it mathematically profitable with the only risk being the initial trade. I keep putting off building an EA for my idea as I am developing something else which I am still struggling with.
My question is, is there a spec which defines what the EA actually does for this strategy somewhere in the thread, if so can someone please short cut me to it. I will as I said read the whole lot as there is only 13 pages.
Thanks in advance.

Been testing this system/EA with xau/gold. Works pretty well so far. Only use on days with no high impact news and not trending.
