{quote} I do know and aware of all aspects you well mentioned here. All will be taken care in my advanced EA version, as to an option for increased lots, exposure limit, risk management etc.. But this is not to be discussed at this stage. For now I focus on the strategy itself. Bottom line: All other added management ideas will be implemented later.

Maybe I was a bit too fast, sorry. Just wanted to contribute by giving back some of my experiences from testing the automated concept.

IMHO the key is not the basic strategy. It is the trade management. And a simple lotisze increase wont do the job I fear and based on my knowledge. But yeah, I wish you best of luck and success. No doubt.

Nice work on UK100 as well, for those who want to try non-forex.
With size adaptation.

Attached Body Size indicator. Download it and install it in your indicators folder (inside MQL4 folder of your terminal). Then restart your Metatrader platform. User can change body size in pips value i.e "100.0" = 100 pips For the sake of order and comfort I also update post #1 with this indicator. Cheers {file}

This indicator does something else.
It draws the size of each bar and does not filter out those irrelevant body sizes.

Out of curiosity, I also coded it to check the reliability of the strategy.

I used MT5 and included the ability to trade multiple pairs simultaneously, but despite adding logical tweaks and ATR filters for entries & exits, I wasn't able to get long-term stable results for single or multi-pair tests - at some point there was always a wipe-out situation.

What system did you use, and what pair + back-test period?

There will be no "one set of params for all currency pairs", even if EA will be based on ATR or ADR
Each pair (or group of pairs) will need its set of params.

What SL levels you used? At some point there seems to be fair amount of floating DD (appx 20%).

Did you use any Martingaling?

Thanks!

No SL, No martingale as OP said 'If price goes from last entry against the direction of the trade, open at the Open of every new day an additional market order with same lot size as original trade.'. This is not martingale, this is just doubling down.

I can up the risk A LOT before it coming close to blowing the account, as you can see this backtest is done on tick data from 2015 to now. Which gives me 18k% gain with 97% max dd, any higher risk would blow the account. (ofcourse this is hindsight and would probably blow the account if you did this forward testing, this is merely a demonstration of risk)

You are correct, I have updated this in post #1.
Instead of calling it Martingale, which refers to increasing lot size for every consecutive entry, I rename it to Average Down Strategy.

Here is the plan for GOLD, the thing is, if it doesn't reverse, even a failed signal can be useful.

Please stick to the plan: No BUY trade after bullish bar.
If you have an alternative strategy, post it in new thread, otherwise it may confuse us with the original post.
