GU 12-4am break long failed to get my 20, and then short (double lot) failed as well. Another small-ish ADR day so far. Got my 500 points on Gold however (1-1:15pm break North) so that's some consolation I suppose.

So another week finished using the EA, and its fair to say that this "curve" looks no where near as smooth as the one i posted last Friday! absolute shit show some days this week

This week i dropped EU (too much whip, and when it moves, it basically still goes backwards) - replaced it with XTI. Still been tinkering with the settings most of the week, trying to find more optimum stops/tps etc. If it wasnt for the big gold trade, it would have been a lot worse. Today has also been good (8am and 1pm)

Pretty decent all in all mate.

I have been thinking and breakout trading works well most days, but you also get days where price keeps bouncing around inside the range. I wonder if there is a way to get a smoother equity curve (albeit smaller profits). My thoughts keep taking me back to wick zone trading, or inside range trading.

It might be an idea to have an EA running outside breaks, as well as one that can take trades when price enters the range from outside, with really strict stops (i.e. if price heads back out, the trade is stopped. Price enters the range again, we take the trade again). Could even try this with a smaller lot size (i.e. if your outside range break lot size is 10, the inside trades can be 5 lots or whatever). Take profit being the other side of the range. This will definitely reduce profits (you can imagine how many times price will criss-cross this line that is the top or bottom of the range). With outside breaks, we have a lot more leeway. With inside breaks, clearly not much flexibility. As this is simply trading a line (with either no buffer or a very small buffer). I am not sure, just pondering at this stage.

Lem, Billy, your feedback would be highly appreciated, being the counter trade / wick zone experts here.

Sounds interesting. Im also still trying to work out ways to minimize losses on the whip days. For the vast majority of the trades over the past 2 weeks, very few dont actually move say 5 or 10 pips (if not more) away from the range (before turning)......but obviously you dont know which trades/days will just carry on and make ur target. So as Lem alluded to the other day, if ur trade is in profit and you let it go into drawdown or hit your stop - are you being stupid? I do use trailing stops, which at least bumps my stop up, and makes the hits less severe than the full range usually. But then again, if im getting whipped, and my lot size is getting bigger....I tend to try and hold out for my target, as i know the returns will blow the rest out of the water (see gold trade this week! )

Now you know why I trade races as a business and ew for giggles, lol. Came out ahead cash wise because of that (Winner in the 2.40).

Each Way wise, neither did anything, though not strictly true...(Oh, here we go ).

Grand Bazaar is one to watch next time out, as it led for a good portion of the race and was eased up once caught. Too much added weight on the top wt in a handicap (hence the name, folks) and doubly so in the soft ground.

two lines were responsible for my main profits today:

first the daily open line, traded 6 times there for more than +36 pips. that was in conjunction with DP.

second the 08-15 range lines, all for +42 pips.
trading is like dancing, don't think and just listen to the music!

One last thing before heading off - The Dead Zone and UC as always. Looking at this without bias, I would actually have been slightly cautious about any Short trade. However, my Voodoo Bias was such a strong Short signal, that it gave positive vibes!

Again, as mentioned last time, there would always have been the option of going in as a Wick Zone entry anyway to get some kind of Short movement if nothing else.

Anyway, here it is...

Close above 3000 is obviously significant and $ looks like it has further to fall.

Posted that something silly would happen yesterday - was expecting in the other direction but that doesn't matter.

Monday could be another funny day with holiday in US.
