DislikedSteve Marriott, of Humble Pie fame. Back in the day ('70s) Humble Pie was the only rock band that could give the Stones a run for their money. Among his peers, Marriott was considered one of the greatest rock vocalists. Mick Jagger couldn't hold a candle to him. Marriott is another one that died way too young. DislikedSteve Miller was featured on the Foxtel Arts show I recorded the other night. An interesting background to Steve’s life, as they told it.. His father (pathologist AND audio technician lol) and his mother (jazz singer) had as their family friends Les Paul & Mary Ford, who used to come over for Sunday lunch. And those two also asked Steve’s dad & mom to be the best man & maid of honour at their wedding. And Les put a guitar in Steve’s hand, when Steve was just five years old.
