How to consistently profit with Grid EA

How can we manage a grid EA so that regularly we could make some money? End of the week or end of the month we could make a profit.
I am talking about consistent profit, it could be a small but consistent profit. Share your thought and experience.

Those who are looking for a Grid EA here is one. but Be careful don't trade with this ea if you don't know what you dealing with. use it on demo.

Good idee, till today I only figured out to stay out of a trend. But sooner or later a trend will happen.... Let's see if someone tells us another way.

In my opinion, in order to attract the attention of experts and encourage others to participate in the discussion, state the trading principles, how to calculate the profit and loss of the expert.
Share examples of trades to start the discussion.

Good topic. In my opinion, a good alternative to the usual use of grids is not to use the increase in lot, or to do it little. There will always be a trend that explodes the account.

On Grid EA's, they are always designed to work in a market that is either trending or one that is within a range.
Therefore they need to be turned off when not inside the correct market type.

That is how the Prop firms that run portfolio's of EA's manage these grid Algo's.

You can't run them 24/7 - been there, made little money running them for a year within my portfolio.
So that leads me to ask hasib a question.

Why do you think they turn them off?

It is always the same... A set of rules is needed to know when a trend has started and when a consolidation. And that is next money management the key of green pips.

I love grid systems. But needs to be used with attention because they can easily blow the account. They have to be used as the support for a trading system. I need to run this EA to understand how it functions before giving suggestions.

Hello RickM and everyone
I am thinking of a way that is when the H1 chart is trending, I mean consecutive green or red candle happens we will turn on Grid ea in M5 with Stop is 15 pips and tp is 10 pips, 5 sell stop order and 5 buy stop order no Increment of lot Just simple buy stop and sell stop with the same lot. we will risk only 1 or 2 % for the day.
if we make a profit for the day we will remove the ea and enjoy life. if loss happens we will also remove the ea and turn off the terminal and enjoy life.

In 22 trading days if we get 10 trending days and in those 10 trading days if we are profitable in 5 days and 3-day loss and 2 days breakeven we will be the profitable end of the month.

It seems easy but it may not that easy who knows!!. we have to test it and we need evidence this concept work. If anyone has any good idea and suggestion can share with us. you can share your way of backtesting too.

I completely agree with you. Fx is all about money management and understanding when the trend will occur and when the market will be consolidated.
But the advantage of the grid system is you know you don't have to over-analyze the market.
with the grid system and proper rules, we will just follow the rules for 1 to 2 hours every day. after that we will be done.

No system is perfect and no system will work if we traders don't make it work. so we need to develop some rules for the grid ea. If you have any suggestions and ideas on how we could make it work please let us know.

I suppose I should ask the question, have you tested the strategy on the MT4 Strategy tester yet.
My opinion is Markets are only in trend 20-30% of the time so a model that sells against fake moves and is designed for a ranging market would be a far better option.
Please put up some test results do we can get a better understanding of your strategy.
