This is very strange indeed. I wonder why Claudia and I are getting a different pivot then.

All down to broker server time more than likely.

Daily Pivot is calculated on the previous daily (High + Low + Close)/3

=(1.31672 + 1.29492 + 1.29620)/3

= 1.30261

Times/prices on UK BST.

Edit: Some of the online calculators work on NY close which can distort things.

yes, i have made the experience also when i was trading davits weekly pivots.

but what is then the correct pivot?

i guess both are correct, it depends on the broker some uses.

really didnt expect such differences in H/L/C!

For me:

(1.3174+1.2980+1.29812)/3 = 1.3045

Normally wouldn't make that much difference - but yesterday was a bit unusual with huge movement.

Yep, I've set my pivot indicator to work out the numbers based on midnight to midnight UK time. As Lem would say, horses for courses. In fact, I'm sure Claudia would say something similar

Might be wrong here but your HLC look to be 5 hours behind mine. Which just happens to be the time difference between New York and London.

Think that makes sense then - my pivot indi is set from 10pm sunday night (uk time), so the daily candle is 10pm to 10pm. Unless im totally missing something in the settings!

This 08-00 bar also went through the 00-00 4 hour high.so the bias is long.
