I love finding a thread on a method that's in my tool box that has died a death, who wants company ... but as a thank you to the P Crowns thread where I first came across this I feel obligated to chuck in the following to help anyone who is reading this. The crucial part of trading IB which everyone seems to miss (I guess because it's subjective and you can't code it) is to ONLY trade the IB that occurs in "hot money" periods. It's obvious when you think about it. IB's that occur within ranges are always prone to false signals. But HOT MONEY IB's are the ones to take and even the failed ones give great signals to go the other way. What's Hot Money? Think about it as when the whole market is in an area where everyone long or short HAS to make a decision. TRADE THE DECISION POINTS!

I have been traded inside bars, with average success, I can see it's the key, but I can't quite harness it. The trades I win 2.1 & 3.1, I then give it all back over the next few trades.

I believe when you say, TRADE THE DECISION POINTS!, means, only trade IB's at support /resistance areas?

I have read and re-read the DIBS method, including Peter Crowns messages, over and over.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi,

IB's should not be used blindly. They are simply a great trigger or call to action. I prefer to have a bias first and use IB's to get me to pull the trigger, plus they provide logical places to place a stop loss.
