I see another, additional effect.

1-2 pips lower or higher ..
The market is catching new liquidity before it starts slowly dropping.

With stock market data, itīs better visible what happens on such turning points.

This is defintley a valid point to include, it add's to probabilty if we see it on the higher level.. on the lower it shows some seller's in agnst..

also another point. you bring up.. is the importance of the zones being an area, wider 5/10 pips for example on both sides, but we can use one S/R to define the average low or high.

also market can often go higher to collect order's before resuming intended direction, for this setup the above image is how it occurs.

High price was 3117.75. At 117 there was a counter auction to test 104 again
At 3115 we saw big liquidity.
