Market still ranging with strong resistance on 40,2x on H4. With increased virus infections in America it could give us some downwards pressure. Then again
gasoline demand increases

Morning Li, the 1hr is showing down, with another spike looming and WTI at a possible top, I took the short, price seemed to turn Friday so just carrying it over, not showing a great move as yet, London open may change things, EU trooping along for now,showing it may be ready to bounce back, the divergence may pay off, thanks for the valuable inputD

In case anyone isn't familiar with GEX it represents gamma exposure. Essentially, gamma exposure indicates the degree to which market makers will need to hedge when the market moves. When market makers have high gamma exposure they'll hedge against the prevailing trend and a negative gamma exposure means it will be with the prevailing trend. Therefore, high gamma exposure suppresses volatility and low gamma exposure will magnify it... I did some independent research and it seemed to confirm this really does work so its worth keeping an eye on.

Great analysis EF, so effectively, when we look at the chart to compare the lines, the organic rise or fall, lines will mimic one another but the hedging will bring them together (centre of the chart looks to be taking the opposite side), thanks for the valuable input, D

My pleasure detector!

Actually, you can disregard the green line in the chart I posted. It's just the S&P 500. Gamma exposure is independent of that so you just need to focus on the GEX values.

Succinctly put:

  1. High GEX: Market makers do the opposite of whatever the rest of the market does. Therefore high gamma exposure acts as a brake on the market.
  2. Low GEX: Market makers do the same as whatever the rest of the market does. Therefore low gamma exposure amplifies market movement.

Last week we had a high GEX so market makers weren't going to let the market move much. If the market was up, they'd be selling and if it was down they'd be buying. Going into this week GEX is much lower so market makers won't have as much influence. If YM drops 500pts they're not going to be buying the dip like they would have last week.

Stellar performance from EU, looking to close or scale out, we are above the sloping res line with what could be continuation to 1.1281, WTI lingered around with little or no movement, hourly indicators still down although coming close to crossing or rejection, will monitor and act as and when.

12 hr bar showing little movement and what looks like trend to be a down bias on the MACD crossing, price bounced off the 52ma, as previously but capped at the 26ma, looking for this continuation to support the MACD to 24844 support, all could turn on a dime though, just my opinion

Added WTI 40.17, coming off the tops, took a while and may come around, Dow punishing with 400+ above the short, 12hr bar touched 26 ma and came off for now, still holding.

Hello all, seems WTI is following the plan, although not in any mad fashion, the 4hr is turning with a target of 29.50 although past attempts have never hit the presumed target, maybe the long spell up could make a difference, still have 35 as fist target, will adjust accordingly, Dow has lowered too, will see how this works out on open, all still pointing down, again, will monitor.
