Hi,

The Algo is amazing. Thank you so much for helping us new comers with such generosity and describing your trading process. I am using it and its made me more discipline with my Risk:Reward.

I have a question regarding the pips for US500, Do you recommend a different pip value for that? or do you still go with 30 Pips? How has your experience been with US500(if you trade them)

Thank you so much again,
Swayam

Great thread you started here!
A lot of information for others to break down and see what makes sense to them.
I remember when I first started it was like pulling teeth to get in-depth explanations.
Keep it up and I subscribed just to be nosey lol
Good luck to everyone

First of all Welcome and Thanks.

Happy to hear that this thread helped you to be more disciplined.

We will not trade much US500 from this algorithm. But when we trade we use 300 pips in non-aggressive mode and 150 pips in an aggressive mode according to a 5 digit broker.

Thanks.

{quote} Our algorithm only appears for 5000 bars of the current chart. ( to prevent stuck metatrader ) So when you add to charts you can only look for 5000 bars from the present bar. But there is a way to do this. 01. Go to Strategy Tester 02. Select Indicators not Expert Advisor 03. Select the Qsigma Trend Smart Indicator 04. Select currency pair that you need 05. Select the timeframe as 15 06. Select the time period you need to test 07. Tick the visual mode 08. Run the Tester {image} From this, you will able test years back. Thanks

Hi FuturePips,

When having Take profit levels, I have noticed that EMA's tend to work as Dynamic Supports on different timeframes and sometimes it doesnt hit my Take Profit as it found resistance or support at a EMA. I focus on trading on the 15min Time frame as you suggest in your method but I am not sure if I should ignore Dynamic supports that occur on the 5 mins or 1 mins? Do you have any thoughts based on your past experience what timeframes do you focus on for Dynamic supports?

Hello FuturePips. Thanks for sharing your interesting system. I have not read your entire thread yet, but I will. Am a basket trader. The attached pic is a synthetic basket of 8 currency pairs. I put your template on it just to see how it looks. The first uptrend look pretty good for trading. After that, I get lost. Care to comment please?

Big thanks to FuturePips for the generosity in making this thread and answering questions!

1 question I have: If as an example I open a trade on a buy signal and then shortly later (without much movement) I get a sell signal (or vice versa) -- should I take the second (opposing) entry signal as an opportunity to pre-emptively stop out the first trade and then open on the second (sell) signal? Or should I just ignore all entry signals after taking a trade on the first, until I close it out based on TP/SL or exit signal?

If anyone's interested I've managed to create an EA which uses the signals from the Qsigma indicator to automate the opening/exiting of orders. I'm just putting it through a trial for a day or two to make sure it's working as intended but can upload it here once satisfied I have everything covered if anyone wants to try it.

Okay I'll upload the EA mq4 file now, but please note I haven't yet tested it enough to ensure everything is working properly. It's opening orders nicely, but haven't yet received any exit signals to ensure that's working -- though I imagine it should. The other uncertainty is how successfully it'll follow the rules in regards to opening trades on the same impulse that a trade was recently stopped out on... I did add some logic to try and avoid that but not sure if I've covered everything -- please feel free to improve the code as you see fit. I've only just recently started coding a little with MQL4 so still very much a novice -- hopefully nothing too embarrassing!

Default input settings are:

Risk per trade: 0.5%
Take Profit in pips: 60
Stop Loss in pips: 30
Use Exit Signals: true

I might look at incorporating an option for auto trailing stop but for the time being I'm just testing it as is.

Edit: Also I've added a check/alert in the code to be sure, but of course the original indicators from the OP need to be added to the charts as well for this EA to work. I'm essentially just monitoring the log file for recent alerts with signals to buy/sell/exit.

I just now tried opening the EA + Indicators onto my cheap VPS to see how it performs there, as I've been running it from my workstation up until now... it's definitely a big tax on CPU... will have to see if I can improve that (any help cleaning the code would be much appreciated!)... I've tried to limit the resource usage by having the bulk of the code only run at the start of a new candle (every 15 minutes on 15m chart) but for some reason still using CPU big time.

Edit: Hmm... seems to be going okay now actually, just had to exit/reopen MT4. If you get any errors in Experts log to do with DLLs, make sure you've checked the 'Allow DLL imports' checkbox in Common.
