Hi George,

I also had the same problem of not being able to post in your thread. But I'd take some space from Andy's thread here to thank you for that splendid education you gave me. Trust me it was more about how to learning and think for one's self and motivation than trading even though the conversation started off with trading. Thank you for always being there for those crazies who are Target, Momentum, Timing, and Psychology freaks (like me)

Hello All,

I am new here. Came across the George’s thread early 2019. Read his posts several times and spent many hours studying the charts on my iPad. Very generous of him. Wished I could understand phone conversations well enough to use the phone with him. Lived my life as profoundly deaf but that didn’t stop me. I have always been a driven guy in sports (football) and work, thanks to supportive and talented family (education, football, basketball, etc.) Great role models that passed down through generations...management, law, businesses, etc. Personally, my 2 college degrees didn’t make me rich. My other option was to be a golf pro but needed to work to make a living. Later, I owned a small business to provide a small income stream while working a regular job. Closed that one due to job change. Now, I am in the 60’s and nearing retirement from a large corporation that makes a boatload of different products including those used by Covid 19 affected individuals. Yep, Trump mentioned us. Anyway, I needed a way to preserve my retirement funds so I turned to demo trading in currencies about ten years ago. Did this on and off in pursuit of a consistent trading method but started to suspect something fishy about the prices exaggerations last year and entertained thoughts of dumping this trading nonsense. Was upset with trades being wiped out so I went on a war path - revenge trading. Almost tripled my small account within 4 hours only to get wiped out again. Googled forex market makers and one thing led to another. Within a half hour, found George’s thread in FF and incorporated his methods. Struggled for some time with market directions. Another thread increased my awareness of correction levels between reversals so that helped. But George’s thread really opened my eyes and stuck with me to this day. I have been doing really well the last 6 weeks despite using an account from meta quotes with bigger spreads. No broker. Anyway, it is pretty awesome to see how the algo moves the price. Last week, I discovered this even on a 5 minute TF. It’s like you can expect price to come back to a certain price level several candles later. Wow! That was exciting. So thanks to Moodybot for this thread. I tend to stay in the background as I am only a demo trader. So I would feel weird posting a chart in the forum. I hope you would understand if I am not posting much. But, I intend to come here frequently. So take care.

I want to tell my story how I stumbled upon a thread of George, simply driving a GJ into the search! This currency pair always got me a lot of trouble, but often I saw that many successful traders trade it. From the first words of the topic, I realized that this is exactly what I was looking for ... After reading a few pages, I began to look for herd mentality zones and trade on kickbacks .. before that, I only traded breakouts. The beginning was sad, I stumbled a couple of times about grinding days .. and realized that this should be studied thoroughly! I read the whole topic three times, it took half a year! It was very exciting to read George's puzzles .. and here’s a new discovery: first the swing ratio, then the grinding filters, and recently, finally, I began to understand the momentum .. Friends, this is a science! This is the psychology and discoveries that you make every day! Your brain will explode constantly .. hint .. hint)) George is a great teacher, although he does not teach anyone))

Just like you mentioned the new cycle kicked in which, I assume, corresponds with liquidity gaps below and (possible) price gaps
Few questions :

1. How do you handle timeframes issues regarding gaps filling ? It's possible to have 1h gap filled with few tiny ones still opened (on M15 or M5)
Do you base your analysis on 1h timeframe or are you aiming to have synchronization on all lower timeframes ?

2. Based on your charts I see that you're using Lmax as data provider. Regardless of any other factors do you use them because they show price gaps ? On daily basis I'm using Tradingview and the only available Forex feed with price gaps is Saxo

3. While trading do you use filters mentioned by George or do you rather focus on targets/stop hunts and PA around them + two above mentioned "indicators"

I use H1 timeframe, it better suits my expectation of entry/exit criteria.
The targets based on interlocking candles can and will attract price, on all time frames, George may use M1, I prefer H1 as my time is limited around the ‘best time to trade philosophy’..
The Lmax data I’m interested in so I’m keeping an eye on spreads, opening gaps etc.
I look for different setups to George, mainly because I am crap at following his advice, but the targets/ psychology are paramount. No target no trade, I then I use my preferred method that I have cobbled together.
I have traded with Dave from Florida over 10 years, and although coming to the same conclusion, we both trade different methods.
I think to try and trade exactly as per George is a tall order, but to take the basic principal, apply the targets and psychology, add in your own personal ‘family, daily routine filter’ , mine is H1, then design your method to suit.

GU is starting to become interesting having cleaned out the previous target. It doesn’t mean it’s going Long, it’s just that it’s completed ‘round 1’ for me. Tick box.

And who is misunderstanding?

In actual fact we copy direct from the Turtle Traders.
We go Long when our analysis says so, and we go short when our analysis says so...but keep it to yourself..mum's the word

Hi George, very true mate, i know from YOUR teachings what class of trader you are, but yes, i have followed ICT for quite a few years now and i love just listening to him talk in his teachings and video's while i'm trading, it sort of keeps me grounded and helps to keep me focused, a very humble guy but a master trader.

Your calcs are off in your example. If you:
buy 100k EU @ 1.08593 then you own 100k EUR and are short 108,593 USD.
So for GBPUSD you need to sell 108,593 worth of GBP or 108593/1.24682 approx 87096 GBPUSD.
Then this just leaves EURGBP - where you sell 100k so your EUR portions cancel, and you have rounding error worth of GBP 100k*0.87088 = 87088 left at the end unhedged. You can see if you are trading in round lots, you're limited in how accurate your hedge can be.

The trick in an an arbitrage trade is to execute all sides simultaneously while the inefficiency exists. While it is true that the ideal triangular spread constantly fluctuates rather than staying at zero as the efficient market theory says, the individual pair's spreads typically always exceed the temporary normal inefficiencies or you could hit your MM with orders capturing this risk free arb.

In practice your counterparty isn't there to lose money so your terms will change and you'll find that it really is efficient.
