It's important to know about daily price limits especially in periods of high volatility. You can check actual limits for all futures on CME official website https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/price-limits.html

Here is how price limits look on the chart in Quantower platform



Once the price has reached the limit, trading is temporarily halted. If the price reaches the last limit, trading on this day is stopped completely until the next trading day.

How can we get some profit from such limits?
Of course, this is not a recommendation for action or trading advice. This is just an observation.

For example, if the price reaches the first limit (5% up limit) during 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 a.m. CT, you can enter in a short position. If the price moves away from the limit, you can earn. Otherwise, the price will stay at the same level, then be sure to leave the position before the start of the main session.
