Dislikedi have started trading full time this month.I was profitable over 2 quarters trading demo. I planned to demo trade for one more quarter but this lockdown gave me more time to focus so i went live. It has been going well so i know i made a good choice. I will start a journal soon. You should only go live when you are comfortable and confident , a lot of problems come from psychology of the trader.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Amazing, if you start a journal let me know. I would like to follow itIgnored
DislikedWhat do you mean - "full time"? Hardly anyone ought to trade "full time", because most people are not made for doing only that "full time". It will have them become careless and bored of it. I only trade when I feel there really is an edge at hand against obvious stupidity in the market, which is rare, and risky enough already.Ignored
DislikedIf you are in the USA i would suggest maintaining your career for the sole reason of health coverage... You really want to be in the 1% before you are dealing with fronting your own healthcare. I would go full time much sooner in a different country Truely fucked but what can you do edit: I see you are in the UK, lucky bastardIgnored
Disliked{quote} I guess full time isn't what I really meant, I what I should of said is making trading your main source of income/ leaving your job. As I don't think anyone really needs to be on the computer all day unless they are scalpersIgnored
Disliked{quote} well, things are very different from 5 years ago. I had high expectations back then , due to the fact that my approach was too optimistic (e.g. relying too much on past performance, using tight stops, risking too much per trade, underestimate slippage etc.). but it didn't take long to realize it... and I don't regret my decision to keep my job. Now I'm just focused on executing a plan. maybe I will go full time AFTER making at least $200kIgnored

Disliked{quote} Since 2012. Trading is a full time knowledge career. Full time because when I'm not in a trade, I'm researching how to improve. This is a brutal business, I've never ever seen anyone less than 100% committed succeed. And knowledge career, because it's a game of those who know rinsing those who don't. You can't google or even pay for what you need to know. As far as I know of courseIgnored
