How do we tell whether a Support or Resistance line is major or minor?
I tried looking up the data for IF's very first example on this thread. As the data appeared slightly different on my testing software, I have ended up re-imagining that scenario, using my current understanding of flag limits etc.

The first engulf on IFs chart didn't happen on my data, so I've used the second engulf as the signal to get ready to sell.

Here is the engulf of a LFL, after which price makes a HH.

To see why the HH occurred where it did, I looked at history and can see that its target was this level shown on the left. I think I should have drawn the target zone a bit wider, to explain why we drew the LFL that got engulfed (can't draw LFL until target above is hit after all).

To explain why the lowest UFL on the chart was drawn we need to find the target that was hit. It looks to be this Pre-CP level below it. This Pre-CP level also explains why price reversed at this price some time later...see below.

Here we see the price turning at the Pre-CP level later on.

I wonder if any of this makes sense!

I don't know what the reason you ask this question.

Commonly S/R from trend changing is major.
S/R from S/D is minor.

By the way, Tj1's trade is on H1 scale. But looks like I am wrong. Still learning yeah.

Thanks, hendzwoter. I plan to stick with it. I can analyse ok with hindsight, but my trading on tester software just seems crazy random lol.

Oddly a few people mentioned scale to me in the last week. I guess its a sign. Here's an attempt to explain. So conceptually scaling isn't very hard to understand. It makes logical sense. But people are confusing its difficulty with its execution. Basically everything you read in every scale has to be right. If something is off then the whole thing goes to hell and it'll be super frustrating, then you'll be like i dont understand scale. Well you probably do, but your reading was off. more study, more practice.

Edit: i just realized some of you might be talking about precise zones instead of the scaling im talking about here. different topic, and there are a few ways to look for them. ahhh one i dont really want to get into cuz its really hard and im not an expert either. But generally speaking if you just use what i talked about, and just enter at the ls/mpl/ftr/origin lvls then your zones will be pretty small relative to the higher tf ftg.
