I know how the indicator works, it's these triangles that interest me. They have a purpose, associated specifically with the indicator. Could you let me know what they are, or link to the indi file for investigation. Thx.

Thats 1/3 of trading. Entry signals. Next is when do you admit to yourself you are wrong. Close for loss. Last one is when to TP. All are equally important.

You're back testing a manual system by sight on historical charts. Many indicators work retrospectively. But the fractal indicator is a lagging indicator. It's not going to signal until a chart pattern has formed. Take the signal circled in green on your chart, that didn't magically appear at the close of the previous candle. It wouldn't be until the current candle pushed below the low of the previous, which seems to be indicated by the triangles. So your signals look nice and obvious on a historical chart, but they don't actually appear until the candle formation completes.

I hope it works for you. But you also state that you're running with no defined risk. I can see a few instances on the charts you've posted you'd be chasing your tail if you were to follow the indi.

It's very odd that you can miss a signal. Surely you just check each timeframe you're interested in trading as the candle completes. Your magic indicator will, or will not appear. If your indi appears with a directional signal at the close of a candle you know exactly when it will, or will not appear. And therefor exactly when to look.
