Hi Dial, I don't think he can change the title. to reflect the correct spelling.

To all a note: My wife up until last year was an English teacher and I habitually misspelled loser. So I definitely heard about it. With Dial and my wife and a small freeware program called tiny spell (google it) I am now proud to admit I am a recovering poor speller...

My t20 cents, Scott

Hey, you Colonials still haven't grasped the Queen's English. It's misspelt, not misspelled, old boy, and its no good quoting spellchecker at me, that was written by a Colonial as well. LOL.

A trading system with 20 pips limit and no stop, in the long term would turn to be a definite loser.
Challenge me.

For a losing system, any old MA system should do.

What would make you say that? That is pretty basic trend-following stuff. If the market is trending, many MA systems look pretty darn good.

Once I realized most of my trading woes were inside ME, my trading became much better!

It ain't the method. It's the trader!

Yes, I know, and that's part of the reason why I was picking on you in fun. I only have English and to me it is magic that anyone can have more than one language! So, I'm envious of smart people like you who have another language! I've tried learning Spanish and Mandarin, and the only thing I accomplished was giving native speakers a good laugh at my feeble attempts. :

Take care Al. You're all right in my book!

EDIT: Corrected spelling of "alright" to "all right"

Fortunately the system accepted the change to the title. I'm almost off the hook for now.

When you use a mechanical system it's not that much about you. It's all about automated trading and money management tools.

What you need is discipline to avoid interfering with the behaviour of the system and also the abality to deal with technical issues (like poor internet connection, etc.)

There are several loser systems out on Collective2 and fx-auto. You shouldn't have problems finding one out there that meets your needs.

I'll do one better.

If you want a 99% loser, simply place a trade long with a 1-pip stop loss.

Apa, I see what you're trying to do, but contrarian strategies can't be 100% contrarian...placing a short with a 1-pip stop loss wouldn't win very many times either.

In my experience, I'd say 50% of English speakers spell that word "looser", and the other 50% "loser" at least as I see on the internet.

And one other word people mix up is "than" and "then".

When we see these misspellings, we know those most likely came from native English speakers.

Most of us using English as a second (third or whatever) language do make a lot of mistakes speaking or writing English but we tend not make certain mistakes that native speakers often do.

I quite agree with you. What I'm trying to achive is to enhance a loosing "objective" system to turn it into a profitable one. I did this when I was develping my recent EA. I found out that whenever the CCI tells me that the direction is incorrect if I trade in the opposite direction I can increase my winrate. I didn't achive the 90% winrate goal but it works at least 65% of the time.

Big Ben, once very profitable could be a good candidate, also a breakout, a hans123 could be a good point to start enchancement. BTW - both are similar to your PipBoxer I suppose.

Hope that helps...

Ok, I'll take a little from Math class.
Simple logic, but most people screw it up by induction.
If p, then q.
So in this case, p is the system, and q is extreme losing.
Just because this is true does not mean "If NOT p, then NOT q" although one could come to this conclusion.

The correct contrarian interpretation of the phrase "If p, then q" would be "If NOT q, then NOT p". In this case, this would say If you are not losing, then you are not using this system, which I think we can agree is correct.

I quite agree with you. I just need to remind you that I'm not going to turn p, then q to q, then p. I'm trying to build some sort of counter trader based on a loser. I don't know how to explain it in mathematics but it might be a possible approach.
