Just trying to survive a very small account playing XAUUSD.
This is my 3rd attempt - starting 2020/03/23


Decided to start scalping EURUSD on the side line.
While waiting for XAUUSD spread to normalize.
One can live in the shadow of an idea without grasping it.

Waited 30min after NFP results.
One looser, hit my stop then I quickly reversed and closed positive for the week.

Not a good week to start off.
Markets are just crazy.
Managed to close positive for today.
Very challenging to manage this small account.

I just had a chat with my broker. I asked why the spread on XAUUSD are so wide and they replied:
"Please note that due the volatility and lack of liquidity in the market at the moment for XAUUSD spreads have widened and this has breached our spread maximum for XAUUSD. Until spreads fall no pricing will come through to the platform in order to protect clients from these very wide spreads. As a non-dealing desk broker we feed the pricing we receive from our liquidity providers directly to your platform for you to trade. We do not influence the pricing you receive, rather we provide the raw interbank spreads which exist in the market at any given time. At this time spreads are wide due to underlying market conditions, so we have prevented pricing from coming through so that you are not filled at such spreads."

No trading for me while the spread is this wide.

EURUSD cached me off guard a couple off times today.
Tried to average my last couple off loosing trades, didn't work.
Closed positive today - made too many unnecessary mistakes.

Manually closed all my losers.
Over confidence and lack of discipline.
No more day trading for me, only scalp trading.
Will try Monday to pick up the pieces.

Managed to close today's trading 27 cents positive although my first trade of today ended in a loss.
