Lost quite a few trades trying to let let them run, will be reverting back to taking an opportunist profit from now, positioning is not working, D

I think there’s some crash risk tomorrow.

1. Markets are down 10% in a few days so there will be margin calls.
2. Coronavirus is all over the news, people are panicking
3. The coronavirus is mysterious. Like bitcoin or a tech stock in the 1990s, nobody knows how to value it. Almost any price is plausible.
4. Who on earth wants to be long going into the weekend knowing it can be in [insert major city here] by Monday.

To be clear, I’m not calling for a crash. We just have a lot of the ingredients for one so the risk is high.

Thinking more on this, there's also big upside potential since the Fed and perhaps Treasury may announce a stimulus initiative over the weekend. Going into the weekend short is risky too.

Just a few thoughts before bed:

1. Markets were overextended and due for a pullback anyway. If it weren't this, it would be something else.
2. There's a decent chance we'll have some sort of government intervention before Sunday's open, whether it's a rate cut or something Trump/Mnuchin/Kudlow manage to concoct.
3. There's some serious near-term crash risk, as highlighted earlier.
4. It looks like this virus is unstoppable and containment efforts are causing real economic damage.
5. The VIX is at my low end target of 40, but its going to go higher before this is done. We are in a rising volatility environment, and I don't just mean through this correction. Volatility has been increasing since 2017. We should continue to see higher highs in volatility so 50 on the VIX makes sense.

I did the math and I'm about 53% in cash right now so I'm be sleeping easy tonight. Thankfully I took off that last 10% around 3050 SPX today. The bad news is the 47% is still a very big position so I've got a lot to lose.

At this point I'd say I'm about 55% confident the bull market isn't over and the top isn't in. I'd be very disappointed if this is the start of a bear market. Aside from still having a lot of money invested, I've been planning on taking a huge short position for when the bear market does come. I'm talking swinging for the fence with a lot of puts and short futures contracts so I'd hate to think I'm missing that opportunity.

This looks somewhat bullish going forward, especially at 1 year out with a mean return of nearly 14%.

sorry not to add more, pre-market is looking good thus far, been intradaying vix for past few days

I might and probably will regret not opening abit more into vix just like i did when vix was around 18 mark but dont wanna get ahead of myself and see what happens at nyse open before opening any big orders on vix anyways

And with nat/xti with prices i got in seems like risk-reward seems fair imo atleast

Still have some smaller vix orders but hoping to see V in orders mentioned thoughout nyse open
