Hi All,
I developed a chart pattern editor.
It will show identified pattern instances.
Also, a pattern followup estimation is available.

The provided executable is an Expert Advisor for Metatrader4.

Hi and thank you for the interest. Answering a few questions:

Major pattern parameters:
The pattern length and the pivot points designating symbols are defined by the string Signature.
The recognition engine resolution is defined by the parameter Scale, given in pips.
The Recognition engine workflow:
1. A sequence of pivot points is identified.
2. A sequence of legs, connecting the pivot points is generated.
3. The set of defined constraints is applied to recognize the pattern.
The Constraints panel:
You can add a new constraint with the "+" button.
To select a constraint click on it. The constraint will become orange and visualization in the pattern outline will appear.
To deselect the selected constraint, click the leftmost cell in the constraint row. e.g. "#1".
To toggle the selected constraint domain "price" / "time", click on the cell "Domain".
To pick up a pivot point for the selected constraint click on the point cell. The cell will become red. Now you can pick up a new point from the pattern outline panel by pointing the new point with the mouse and click.
To toggle the selected constraint unequality direction ">" / "<" click on the unequality cell.
To edit the selected constraint value, click on the cell "Value".
For the time domain, the constraints control the number of bars between two reference pivot points. Mnemonics: Bars( A, B) > Value
For the price domain, the constraints control the ratio of two price differences. Mnemonics: Pips( A, B) / Pips( C, D) > Value

acabrita: The editor saves the pattern definitions in "MQL4/Files/patterns". I develop a set of tools for using the defined patterns. These will include a custom indicator, a dashboard, and an expert advisor. And - of course - with notifications.

Done with this, slightly modified version.

Win trades 91% with stop 66 pips, limit 95 pips. The expected return is 80 pips.

Hi mch13, I see you advance well.

1. >?? / <?? means that we do not have any identifications on the current chart
- this could mean logically inconsistent constraints ( this is nor your case )
- you can edit the scale parameter to change the recognition details
- you can allow more bars per chart (Tools/Options/Charts/MaxBars) to have more historical data to work with

2. To change period settings. Press the button with the up and down arrows (near the scale 10.0 pips). The green/red from history testing clouds will appear. Select TP/SL point and exit with the green check. The values scale, SL, TP and Win% for the period will be updated.

The results, I posted are for EURUSD, M5. The first identification appears on 04.09.2018, so to reproduce the results you will need that data. The last identification is on 13.12.2019. The other settings are the same as the image above.

btw,
Pattern definitions are saved in folder "mql4\files\patterns". These can be easily shared. The definition file can be just extracted from the attached zip and saved in the same folder on the target machine. The Pattern is opened by entering the corresponding pattern name in the Pattern Editor. For example, to open this, file after saving it, enter "DoubleTop" as a pattern name.

If I want to search for Vpatterns of identical times and different values, e.g. V8 or V7 or V10 etc...
do I have to create a template for each time or price value?

This is a simple indicator that will scan for a pattern in realtime and give an alert on the identification bar.
Input parameter: The PatternName as saved from the Editor.
The pattern definition file SomeName.bin must exist in files/patterns.

Consider this mostly as a developer version since I want to close the definitions file design first, before committing to the recognizers...

Sadly, yes. You have to create separate patterns for the different bar spans settings. This engine is designed for patterns like classical ones, harmonics patterns etc. so, supporting the VN pattern is mostly a lucky coincidence.
