Risk:Reward is one of the most vastly overrated aspects of trading. Strike rate is hugely more important. Strike rate and risk control.

Hi Lem,

I've started to get my head around that aspect of my Trading.

I've been far too concerned with the R Factor instead of concentrating on my ability to get Direction Correct.

I agree that's important to see the whole picture.... A 99% win rate with a terrible rr still can make some good dough.... The most important thing is that it fits your personality.... And controlling your mm.... But there are a few geniuses in this thread... Who master the concept of money management....

Indeed - and that's why I say that you must master risk control as well.

I am of course speaking most specifically here about our kind of scalping.

read a blog u mentioned over in the other place, lococo or something.....interesting read. Put some of it in practice today actually.....went bigger lot size scalping and just never let it go red (apart from the odd one or two out of my control).....struck about 85% win rate, but fair to say some of those were only 1-3 pips!

When you are scalping at its purest, you have to think like a human version of a computerised hft and how many pips do you think they are going for at a time?

Double-Tap Short off the Cam-Level.

Took a mean-reversion play before I headed round to Pips' Tea-and-Toast Shoppe and was worth the diversion...

DAX 1-min Mean Reversion +8.5 +10.5 [+19]

Don't know if I would have taken anything to do with The Billy-Bar today but the Not-The-Billy-Bar would have been of some interest in combination with a bounce out of Demand and up into a WZ move Long.

Would have been...is all though, as not actually traded by me.

Playing the Billy-Bar straight, price hasn't actually broken either side yet.
