Ratios & Harmonics: a Different Way to Trade

Thanks. Actually I don't use rotation candles. I have been testing out a different method for the time being.

My goal is to get my stop loss to around 10 points. It seems to be within sight.

Short at 633. Lately short entries have not played out well. We will see if this D completion will cooperate.

On Friday I performed a test. Over the past couple months I have been heavily biased to the long trades. In December, I only took 2 short trades and in January only 2 as well. In prior months, as the market continued to the bullish side, the intraday shorts seems to BE or lose. On bullish days, I would look for C entry points and on bearish days, D completions. The challenge we get into with Mr. Pip's method is we don't know which swings will be successful or fail. Inevitably, once you recognize a day is trending, and you wait until the swing gets to your AOI (you may missed a swing or two), our risk of expectation failure increases.

After my first trade ended in BE, and I realized the day was going bearish, I decided to take every D completion which was 127 extension and greater and just average in until the expectation failed and a bullish trend began. I took 5 trades, all which did not fail the expectation on Friday, as the day was a complete downtrend from a larger swing perspective. Yes, more immediate order flow there were some failures, but the "intraday" order flow was in tact the entire day.

Exited my 5 trades this evening for +202. One interesting observation is in a strong trending market, price many times turned just after the 138.2 Extension. The 141.4% level Scott Carney talks about may have some significance. I may add that to my extension and retracement lines.

One trade today on YM +58. Surprisingly, I was bias to the short side today, trading the D completion. With the huge run up in the overnight hours, thought the DOW was prime for some correction during the day. (AKA, expectation failure on the C entry trying to catch the falling knife). Exited this evening at a D completion point.

A couple of quick trades this morning, +33, -11, the 2nd swing hasn't failed yet but I decided to bail on it

Got started a little late today, but I began trading the immediate order flow once the down swing got extended from the market open. Does anyone know how to display the symbol and time period in Sierra charts so I don't have to write it in lol!

Also sorry for the lack of posts, I have been very busy with school and family. I will begin trading more often once my school is done next month. Have a good one!
