I'm glad I only demo traded this one.

I only have a 4 pip spread on NZD/USD with forex.com.

Straddle NZD/USD +/- 6pip distance, 8pip TP, 20 sec b4 announcement.
Cancelled the opposite entry once the news came out.

The official number is VERY GOOD for NZD yet the move was not that good. My order was filled only when the price has dropped below my entry price so I was never in any way to make it profitable. I should have faded this one as dictated by the Historic charts.

My first loss with the NZD, -587, The number was great, it was a strong buy signal, why wasnt the move sustained? maybe NZD moves r sustained exclusively on the downside, must be the gravity

i didbnt think your charts looked like fades were the best, i thought they were pretty constant 1 directional, guess u know better than i , im usen MB Trading my spread is 6 to 10 at the time of trade, im in long at 6591 atm... come on more rally

The move was 20Pip (as i was expect)

Starddle 8 , Tp: +7 (5 spread) , SL: -10

Darn..The spread was 6 pip for NZD USD... so Missed the target with 1 pip
Price Retrace......

Lost: -10

Got a question for EVERYONE, MB trading sucks for stop market orders on news, does anyone have good experience with there broker on these orders? I put in a stop market say for 8900 on the GBP and i could get filled at 8950 it could sit there for 10 or more seconds before it fills my order and my mouth just drops and wonders why i am giving my broker a new car and crap..... this is during non farm or fomc obviosly, anyone have good things or bad things to say about there brokers?

Do stop limit orders with TTO. This will save you some head aches, but caused me some when i lost due to their spreads on mbt. They are not the best out there, but close to ecn when it comes to retail. Set a stop limit market orders and just becareful. Doing market orders with mbt is suicide. Even their demos wont allow MO's. GL with it.

My charts freeze and so does the trade station when there are quick movements. Yes my broker never misses a losing trade I make, but takes forever to re-quote as my pips slip away on a fade. I hear ONADA is the place to be??????? Anyone would like to confirm.

MBTrading is an ecn-type broker, just like interactive brokers. I have an account with interactive brokers and I've run into the same problems just like you.
On MBT not only spread will widen during news, but also the market will gap most of the time, so using a stop-market order is really suicidal - just like hunter suggested - you should always use stop-limit orders with MBT, if the market gaps and spreads widen beyond your limit price, your order will simply not be filled, saving you from fills at the peak of the spike.

There are broker threads that you can read. Been plenty of debates on the broker subject.

BTW

I am still in my NZD trades.

I straddled...got filled with no slippage and had a 15 stop. 2 Brokers.
Both are set with trailing stops...so we will see how it works. As I speak I am at least a little positive in both brokers.

Arrrgghhh- don't get us started on brokers and trading the news. I think you will experience some kind of problems wherever you go, an unfortunate part of news trading. They've screwed me over so many times I'd like to go round there, widen their spreads and remove their pips with a blunt instrument if you know what I mean...! And one day I will.

I took a 12 pip loss too. Very disappointing. I think if the figure had been worse than expected nzd would of gone down a lot. I think its the case of good news in a bear environment.
