Thanks, so the only thing I need to change for backtesting is the starting balance value? I can leave the rest as default no matter what the leverage is?

All you need to do is change "BaseBalance" setting according to your leverage once on your account and once when backtesting. Once this is set, you don't have to change ANY other settings ever! The EA will detect your backtesting starting balance and trade the correct risk according to your leverage.

Also, realize I’m a commercial member now and I don’t even have to give out (demo) versions of my EA’s. This was just something I wanted to do for the community.... Maybe I shouldn’t have...

Did a backtest with v3.3 ... with it set to $100k, it only trades 0.0.1 size? But v3 it traded with 0.1 size.

I noticed on version 3.3 default on close on profits is now lowered to 3 pips when version 3 was 5 pips?

You're not reading the manual correctly here. You need to change the BaseBalance to "5000"

Your leverage is 100:1 right? Once you put this to "5000", you should be all set. I don't think this is difficult to understand? I just want to make sure people are getting this...

I think this was later changed to 3 pips in V3 as well.

No version 3 was default 5 pips. But the manage EA was changed only to 3 pips. Do you find 3 pips better? If I load version 3.3 on my charts will it take over open trades from Friday?

Smaller take profit is ALWAYS better when scalping!

You will need to keep the older V3 up and running until the current trades close out. Otherwise, the EA will no longer be able to track the trades.

I thought basebalance was the account value. So in your manual you have a $5k account and set the value to 5000. If you have a $10k account you set the value to 10000.

Does a 3 pip TP take in consideration broker commissions so it nets 3 pips?

All we’re setting up here is your account leverage. This is better than what your wanting or trying to do. When you set this number to 5000, you can use any size balance whether that be $100k or even $10k and the EA will use the correct risk for 100:1 leverage.

What may be a bit confusing is the minimum balance required at $5k for a 100:1 leverage account. This is important because we want to make sure our account size is large enough to handle the margin the EA requires.

I may try to make this a bit more clear in the manual...

I don’t think it takes into consideration the commission. I think it does spread though. There is an ECN option in the EA settings I think supposed to do this but I’m not sure it’s working.

I may work on this for a feature update.

keep in mind though... we’re going for quantity of trades, not big TP values. We may be taking away only 3 pips each trade but we’re getting 30-40 of them each day.

On the ThinkForex-Au Demo 2 server, I get an error saying "this EA runs on a demo account only". But it is a demo account

Try reloading the EA onto the chart and check the "journal" tab to see if you're getting an error.

Hi, trying to test blast bands on strategy tester but for some reason the test isnt taking any trades?
