I was simply lucky with my job and past career: I can't tell you how many hours I spent in Recording Studios and Theaters...
watching, listening and following real professionals do their job.

I can go on for ages showing you some nice guitarists... I'm a maniac (as everyone can see! )

Hey... I play/played in the same position-posture!!!
I have the same tendency (actually a defect! LOL) I also bend the guitar that way when I am forced to play standing up.

Meditation: Living with music and in music is one thing.
Fame, notoriety and success is another.

About contemporary guitarists (in my poor English).
In the end I see a great danger: an enormous lack of personality and emotions!
These shredder guitarists all play in the same way: you can't distinguish one from the other.
Actually, as a listener, I don't really like pure shredding.
It just gets boring and repetitive after awhile.
But I do like some 'melodic' and “progressive” shredding.
There are "shredders" who compose some of the greatest instrumental music for modern electric guitar,
who exhibit not only a technical virtuosity but a musical and expressive virtuosity as well!
Certain others have no relevance to me (there are tons of them) and yet still carry an arrogant attitude because they can play fast and sweep
(... with random notes played at ultimate speed the music doesn't get anywhere).
And maybe I hate the verb “to shred”. LOL
Is Chris Impellitteri the fastest guitarist of all the times? OK. I don't care a fig!

The question is heart and soul! The correct spirit! Not the pure technique exhibition.
(A tendency that you can find also among Classical musicians... speeding up Bach to the excess, for example)
