But it is a very dangerous place and all that go there must accept the risks of stepping into the crater of an active volcano. It can erupt at any time.

The issue, from a legal standpoint, is going to come from the decision to continue to go to the island while the level of activity was at Level 2. But like I said, it has been at Level 2 many times before with no problems.

All the survivors are in a critical condition and I would expect the death toll to rise. It's very sad......

Thanks for the info Bro, we rely on the media who sometimes report on events they have no expertise of and we get a very distorted picture of said events...

I had not seen the way you saw it thank you..

There is another divergent support below that, little thing, but I think it will be broken and it will become resistance soon so I didn't put in, that was the last one I was expecting.

That's often the way with the media, unfortunately.

From the mainland, the nearest place is Whakatane, which is where the tour boats depart from, White Island is often visible unless it's really shitty day, and I have seen it dozens of time from there and other places around the coast, and I don't think I've even seen it without a plume of steam rising above the island. Even when the activity is at 'normal' levels, the air is very bad to breathe which is why they supply gas masks, although I didn't wear one as I kept upwind of the vapours. But, the air is also acidic and the tour guides will tell you that it even corrodes the zippers in their jeans over the course of one season! Also on the island are the remnants of a sulphur mining operation which some crazy people embarked upon....meaning they had to live on the island! They mostly died in eruptions too. The remains of the machinery has broken down and corroded to a level that you wouldn't see in 500 year old metals, yet in 100 years the hardened metals are just flaking away in your fingers.

It's a crazy place and I'm glad I went there. I'm also glad I came back to tell the story!

Looks to me like we have bullish weekly momentum on AU so if election news favors pound selling then can easily see GA 1.8500 and below...

That's very true, but crossing the road can cost your life too. We have to calculate the risks we take every day and try our best to survive. I went there knowing the risks. I spent years skydiving, knowing the risks. Same with motorcycle racing, caving, abseiling and may other activities throughout my life. I want to live Marcie, and I want to experience life too! As they say in the skydiving community, 'don't live on the edge....jump off it!'
