OK thanks for that but was asking if you had noticed any (substantial) change in your volume method while trading the indices over the last few years given the huge uptrend ?

I stopped trading indices in favour oil and I'm glad I did

By the way do you use MT4 ?

It's been a while since I focused on indices, so I don't have an up to date analysis.
In regard to your question, then what I noticed with indices and volume overall are: More acticity=more players entered

In general, it's a trend that clients are mixed but if looking at last couple of years, many leveraged traders expected a fall (especially in the US since they've outperformed other big markets like Japan and EU)

I've heard rumors that even industrial clients are so highly leveraged now in stock market, that the whole economy wouldn't survive a 20-30% drop and I don't believe this to be unrealistic.. (therefore stock market remains the center of attention for monetary policymakers along with real estate)

It also depends where you find your data, it varies a lot whether it's leveraged clients or not (since 'normal' clients are usually bulls long term and leverage players are bearish short term)

Yes, I use MT platform for trading and I got a lot of experience with it (also some coding experience)
P.S my volume journey started a few years ago, so I can't answer backwards from that then

Can you convert MT4 indi's to MT5 ?

Just glad to be able to discuss and share opinions like this. One chart only is also less stressful. Hard to have a 'normal' life if wanting and expecting full markets overview all the time.

Converting old mq4 files to mq5 = struggle is real
I might be able to help, but I would recommend you to search for another that's more specialized in that

I don't stick with one chart I just don't look at the fundies too seriously I know I should but they just do my head in

Amazing the markets moves at all... due to heavy holidays However... I exited trades at early morning (my time) or late at night (yesterday) for some other zone ppl I certainly didn't want to trade at those rather distorted time.. can not price-in the holidays... But planning to re-enter the market heavily next week... Would still bet on the south, but to be confirmed... soon
Can you afford to take that chance?

Well it did fall but I closed out this morning with a sheckle because of the US holiday, pleased I was out though as this could have gone a very different way.

I'm not sure, but maybe NATGAS, low liquidity, londonbridge incident as chaos creator?

Notice how at the time of tanking, OIL was only down intraday -0,18% while NATGAS was down -2,23%
