{quote} We have beat this subject to death (literally). I have mentioned this in numerous posts all through out the thread. I see no value in explaining it again, but do encourage you to read this thread in its entirety. {quote} This entire threat is devoted to this subject and as you can see (IF you read it), I feel it is of great value and has improved the effectiveness and accuracy of my trading (both entries and exits). My goal in starting this thread was to exchange ideas and start a conversation. And this is what I see you are trying to do...welcome!...

Greetings sir,

I checked the theory behind "cumulative delta" and found out that it is in tandem with what I do. Though I am not certain how they arrive at their bid/ask volume.

Permit me to add that the cumulative delta volume is just one part of what I do. After obtaining the values for the cumulative delta volume, I use it to re - adjust price so as to give me what I call my Volume Adjusted Price (VAP).

VAP in my opinion is TRUE price and serves as a price attraction point.

I will share post and pictures today for GBPJPY.

I update values every hour.

GBPJPY

Price closed BELOW the open price in the just concluded hour.

VAP also closed below the open price in the just concluded hour.

This has a very strong BEARISH implication for GBPJPY.

Outlook:

A strong sell off until price trades 3 standard deviations BELOW VAP.

Current VAP reading is at 140.11

Day's open : 140.15 or (140.46 for EST terminals)

After price, volume is the second most important thing in my trading. I also use only these two, price and volume. Volume helps me anticipating the coming moves, and also helps with the timing of the entries. Forget tick volume though. Unreliable and harder to read, it is a joke compared to real volume. Even for forex, use currency futures data for trading.

Totally agree with you. We know Forex trading is a highly liquid and speculate the market. That's why for each and every trade accurate Price and Trade volume or size should be decided.

hello everyone
GBPJPY sell bias remains
the sell cluster between 140.24 - 140.49 should be very well ladden with sell orders
until and unless price deviates maximally below VAP, the sell direction should be the way to go
All the best guys!

GBP CPI y/y news release will be about 2 hours from now.

VAP is now BELOW the opening price for today.

Price is BELOW VAP

Current cumulative delta volume is NEGATIVE (sell side).

These are all strong bearish signs.

3 standard deviations BELOW VAP is currently at 139.73

3 standard deviations below VAP is now at 139.63

We need a close below this level to start thinking about covering the short.

So we wait!

Price might need to trade back to the VAP @ 139.96 (which serves as a datum) after this is done, the sell ought to resume

While I appreciate your efforts to contribute to the thread.. we are not running a signal service here. I appreciate that you are not inclined to share the formula for your methodology, however simply posting price points does nothing to stimulate the conversation and without the added benefit of seeing on a chart how you plot these points, we are unable to understand the point of your posts.

Can you provide at least some context for your posts? A chart with your "VAT" plotted on various sequential candles? Or something? The numbers you post are simply meaningless without a context or even a rudamentary explanation of what you're doing. Please clarify with some charts...

Forgive me...I am a "visual learner", meaning that I need to see how these points relate to actual price movements on a chart. Would it be too much trouble to plot these on a chart. I see you are using hourly data...can we see a single day's movements together with these points?

Seeing data on a table in numeric form is easier for me to analyze.

Having computed the values manually, I really might not have the extra time to place markers for the price points on the chart.

What I have on the excel sheet is more than sufficient for me.

It is quite some work doing this every hour. I hope you understand sir?

Absolutely...as long as you too understand that mostly price points given AFTER the hour has completed does nothing to stimulate the conversation...and that is why we are here...to discuss how to improve our trading using volume data.

Quite interestingly sir, price comes back to walk in the tracks created by the VAP.

VAP leads price!

Only after the hour has completed can you tell the exact number (or percentage) of buy - sell volume.

OK...I'm not sure how that relates to our discussion here about volume and how to use it to our advantage as traders? It sounds like you have other people trading for you.
