Anyone else got higher FXDD spreads?

my spreads on the chf,jpy and gbp are 1 pip higher than advertised and usual. anyone else have this also? there is no news due and not much volatility so i don't see a reason for the increase.

I think FxSol also increased their GBP/USD spread to 5 pips. I asked my broker yesterday and I was told that the GBP/USD liquidity (volume) has sunk. So, it means less and less people trade this currency pair. I'm not sure why they increased their JPY spread because I was also told that EUR/USD and USD/JPY are still the most liquid currency pairs.

FXDD demo spreads now are:

GBP US 3pips
US CHF 3 pips
US JPY 2 pips
EUR US 2 pips

They may increase during volatile hours and FXDD doesn't guarantee fills then.

I caught 1-pip bumps in gbpusd and usdchf Friday (10/27) for at least 10-15 minutes. They were back to normal about 08:20CT. I could see no news cause and there was no explanation from FXDD.

This REALLY upsets me. It's 1:53 pm EST and there is NO news, NO expected news, and they have the GBP at 4 pips.
Anybody know where I can go to get the 3 pip spread on my 10K account?
I've had it with FXDD

ive notice a lot of retail brokers playing around with gbp/usd spreads. i wonder why?

From memory, Vegas has mentioned a couple of times in his blogs that the average range on cable had decreased in recent months compared, to say, earlier in the year.

The fact that more than one broker has increased the spread actually makes me feel better...
... It's not my broker being a prick, they are just evolving with the market. More will probably follow.

So I guess we should all evolve and reconsider what pairs we trade and how.

this is only true with retail brokers i don't know why. ecn brokers spreads has gotten tighter on gbp/usd 1-2 pips. could it be retail traders or trading the pound less. do you remember when you first started trading forex whats the first currency pair you was told about, eur/usd or usd/jpy.

So there is legitimatemacy to what the brokers are saying.

Remember that the brokers don't just base their spread on the underlying inter-bank spread... ....they also need to account for any risk associated with the currencies overall behaviour.

If I was in the habit of opening new accoutns all the time I would still try and find the best deal though!

whats going on lately? they are getting ridiculous. the last couple of days the spread on the usdjpy has been 3 pips with no change, 4 for the gbpusd and 5 for eurjpy. right now there is no news and the spreads are bigger than usual including 4 on the eurusd. they have been a mess lately.
