Dow at upper boundaries so may take a stellar rise for the day before the 1hour break, last thing I want is a snap back, being opportunist again, D

Thanks TC, got it on a short leash, if you will excuse the pun, one of two things, either selling to gain a better price or it is going down, 2 spikes in activity around the same level have made a shorting case, second one was to six bars in on the 4hr, indicators and activity showing signs, only difference is the fall on the first was a little more aggressive, not by much though so we could see a rebound, Chinusa (should have trademarked it LOL) could be a contributing factor, suppose I'll find out, hope it's not the hard way, have it to 1470 if it goes, D

Funny when I read it but wise words timingchain. No doubt. Don't want to be caught with your pants down, short gold when all hell breaks loose. Oil on the other hand, that becomes a very important commodity.

Taken notice of what’s said I did see a snap back this morning so closed short and at my detriment howeve noticed the rejection on my mobile charts and back short, was always looking for the short just my timing,D
looks like closing was bad timing but turned a profit, no where near what could have been LOL ,D

Not far short of my estimated target is gold reaching, the chart led the way that said we do need to keep one eye on fundamental issues,D

Well, I would suggest at least first part of the sentence also What would you say this second part of the sentence might have implications on OIL?
I do not think much, in the long(er) term at least... It seems counterintuitive to some but I would LOVE to BUY gold and SELL oil: )

I don't think the Turkey-Syria conflict should impact oil. Syria only produces 30k barrels per day.

As for gold, I'd watch what the US does closely. If the US decides to intervene militarily we'll see gold spike higher.

DC, sorry to hear, gold just like oil is loved one sec then hated next, I liked the post for your honesty, we always get losses but quite often only hear about the winners, it's not checkmate yetD

A, I have gold at the outer boundaries so I expect some kind of retrace, one scenario, 1300, other, 1200 and this, if it's in total freefall, 1050, on the other hand, the trend going back to 2011 zigged & zagged (professional technical terminology by me) all the way up in a similar fashion from where it is now but unless we have out and out war could see it rise but not on the previous scale, may be proven wrong though, indexes are overbearing and defying gravity, this would be the trigger the rush.
Do think oil is going to range at these levels, as we've chewed over before, and again, turmoil on a massive scale will only change the price, the latest glimpse created a blip then down, I hope your forecast comes around as it could mean chaos in the market but not world wayD

Gold was a classic in the short term, my target was all but hit, not saying I'm right as a stopped clock is right twice a day, however I had to keep an eye on what the others were posting, (appreciated) probably a dangerous position to take, the fear and greed factors are all present (I'm no exception) volume/activity was moving saying a possible change, I just exploited a small portion at the right time, however, the stall over the last few weeks and the upper boundaries being hit could be more sinister, trading is not an activity that prepares you for the next wave, it has the element of surprise, we just need to be prepared for the shock, good trading, D

Gold weekly at a transition, 1518.50 seems to have resistance, the weakness creeping in, we may see 1400 if this breaks down, or sub 1300, the stellar rise has stalled and may give way to an equally stellar fall, if the chart was to be believed it being sold more than bought, suppose this is only a portion of what is reported when we look at the chart, failing this 1700, on a slow and steady rise, no mans land between current level and 1700, good chess all for the coming week, D
