It all depends on your trading system. TF doesn't matter. If a higher TF system requires you to check the charts every hour, well that's fked up too.

15 min charts i make a living , and on 30 1 hr also so its all about the money

For now i enjoy 15 mint time frame i uses pending others, to me what i call stress is when i don't know what am doing or can't interpret the market structure, that's when am always stressed out.

Yeah thats what im saying TF does not matter, they all makes exactly same patterns, just their speed that is
different.
But yeah i think you are more accurate. It is more depending on the trading systems.

Do you consider 1H a small time frame? I trade the 1H and I find it manageable. I have a clear trading plan and all trades are entered on the close of the hour, this free's up the time between hours to do what I need to do.

Hi man,

I think Small tf is very difficult to trade and it requires you must have a good mind . I usually go to the gym or pool to relax .

If I were to trade the hourly, I would need to be checking charts all the time. If you are okay with that then have at it. I know many guys that do very well on the 1H.

just to share, i trade 4h tf of all available currencies on my broker. i tried my best to avoid double guessing by using a strict mechanical approach. an open position can last 6hr to days.

well for me faster move are a lot better because sometimes slow moves make impatience build up in my head and tend to push me doing something stupid. faster move only means missed opportunities but there will always be next, and the faster i find the next one, the more fun i get!
It really depends on your appetite tho, some people like to take it easy, the other cant really sit on their hands, but what im trying to say is you dont have to push yourself doing what people say that work. they say you gotta be patient to be successful, but for me if you dont have that much patience just jump to lower TF and get more action, vice versa if you are overwhelmed by the speed of lower TF

EDIT: one thing i want to add, once i have a rigid plan, trading will be much less of psychological than a mechanical activity. i find a setup, evaluate if all i need is checked, decide to take or not to, then im done and leave the rest to fate, win or lose, my edge will carry me there eventually.

Actually I love trading, especially the psychological part... I see it as a game of skill where you win only if your strategy is ugly enough and hard to code.


I don't see it as game of probabilities and I don't have mathematical certainty about anything. however, you can definitely be profitable in the long term in fact I'm using the very same system , with the same parameters of 5 years ago when I developed it.

I prefer low timeframes like M1 and M5, but know that there are many ways to skin a cat so to speak. (I love cats and other animals, by the way.)
That said this day's demo trades were taken by using multiple time frames - MTF - in the analysis.
Anything is possible. Just don't be discouraged by negativity, and stick to it. After over 10 years doing this, it's finally starting to come together for me, and I'm no genius for sure.

Hello. In intraday trading you should define your trade number per day. I always 4 times trade per day. And when I done the 4 trades. I always take my free time. Feel free to check my trade explorer.

I have been trading lower time frames for 12 years. I have evolved my method since I first started, but I came to Forex through the stock market and saw how overnight gaps affected my trades and decided since the volatility was in Forex, there was no reason to hold positions longer than their range of motion. I use a three time frame series all on the same chart. I trade the ranges of the middle time frame, using the smaller one for more precise entries and exits on ranges, and the larger one for exits when the middle one trends. Finding the sweet spots over and over does not stress me out at all. Perhaps you need to stop trading lines and start trading momentum by using probability? By the way, probability is the odds, calculated by the average of averages, so it is a math thing, lol, not a visual thing. Support/resistance is fake trading, touted by the banks so they know where you will enter, exit, take profit, and place stops. That is why most traders that trade support/resistance lose a lot. They are in the feeding zones, rather than in the vertical movement. Good Luck.

I think that short timeframes work better at Forex in the case of news trading, when in a short time the price starts to shift strongly and you really see a strong movement. Yes, there is another danger - it's a hep, which can knock you out of stop-loss, but on the other hand you can buy up after the report, it really helps. With a calm market, it is in my opinion that I would not work on short positions, I think it is not safe. Although there are pros among my acquaintances, who even in this scenario do not do bad work and make good money. In fact, a lot depends on the strategy and what levels and moments you use. But I would not take any chances.

This is not enough data. 30 trades is statistically insignificant to draw any conclusion whatsoever.
When you see it, BET big.

Stress is not really related to the time frames, it is related more to the success rate and your position sizing. If you are trading with a 10k balance and you are using a 2 full lot on trade, it will stress you out... even if you are trading 1M, 1H or even D1. But the same thing... if you are trading with 0.01 lots, it is practically impossible to stress you out. Even if the trade moves 200 pips against you, you will still be down only 20$ on your 10k balance. Can that cause stress to anyone? Im not sure. So adjust your lots in a way, where the draw downs won't stress you out. Set it to your comfortable level... and you are fine.
