Nice idea by myself... Thanks to fxbarwise for coding it for members here....... Then thanks to Hanover for recoding it.... Yes it is nice work but shall I have the credit first.... Its turning into a hanover lovers club and not what this thread is about..

Twee said don't post about it here.. You know, trolls... But I can anywhere else, so I made a blog somewhere else. Link secret but I will make it go viral.

Keep the thread on topic on myfxbook.......... If you want to post about Hanovers indicators please do on his thread... I for one don't use them.

They can't PROVE it doesn't work..

{quote} No VWAP and MAs are indicators based on either price or volume and therefore lag. Value are the alternative markets or combinations of that are used by the institutions to build their intrinsic value models. These are also what they use in what is called statistical arbitrage trading. {image} You would look to buy when price and value diverge and then get off the trade when value runs out. The pension funds (green line) are not buyers of the EUR at the moment and so any move up is going to be limited

Absolutely - I am a big fan of trading off mean reversion as mentioned before. My friends who work for Goldman Sachs all use VWAP btw. Guess it’s not too laggy for them! :-)

Edit: what’s the data source please?

Always keen to look at new ideas.

Do we want this to go viral, Neil? Doesn’t that ruin the spirit of contrarianism?

No doubt VWAP is a very useful tool and I do have it on my charts.
Many of the banks use it as a way to calculate traders bonuses so if the trader is able to trade below VWAP for a long trade and visa versa they get bonus as they have traded below the average. This is why price will react off the vwap as there will be a queue of traders there waiting to get on.
The momentum algos will also use VWAP, and will only look to go long above VWAP and short below VWAP.
Boxing clever since 76.

Interesting, what is that code?

I see a lot of position scaling there, what system are you following?

Re your JPY post, I’m short the majors against JPY right now :-) good day indeed!

I would imagine CHF and JPY will have a good run over the next few weeks/months.

I am testing money flow indexing with this myfxbook strategy as a measure to determine value. What copi88 says makes a lot of sense - if you do not know the value of a currency how would you know when to buy or sell it.
Has anybody here done something similar or know of a better strategy that is more effective than money flow to gauge value?
The advantage of knowing....

This makes price action and candlestick analysis seem pathetic and timewasting, because it really works. God bless.

By the way those stops at the GBPUSD level are all going to be taken out soon.

Yeah I thought the same and closed out at break even. It did hit profit but not significantly which is a warning sign. Edit: didn’t realise I had already taken profit once and gone back in. Ha - not so bad.

I always think ‘is it cheap to buy? Or expensive to sell?’

Didn’t trade audusd despite 90% imbalance on the long side as it was expensive to sell... then price was up 0.55% on the day before I’d blinked.

I wouldn't sell at those levels.. I am suprised they havnt let the buyers in as there is a lot at that level. Just let it rise a few hundered pips. Like Tuesday's nice rise and sell it again.

Doesnt help with it being August. Slow month. Red news though for GBP Friday A.M

Will it or won't it... It just won't break it.. Nice if the GBPCHF dropped. Most pairs are at levels where they say NO MORE.. Undecided. They won't sell at that level and it's great picking for the buyers , if they just let them.. It needs to rise a few hundred pips then sell and break that level. Last one is quarterly candle chart (GBPJPY+GBPCHF)
