I am looking for a good fx broker in India which accepts local deposits, if you know any then do let me know.

None, because of fx trading is illegal in India but there is fx broker like octa fx which offers you local deposit/withdraw. beware all of them, they are a fraudster.

just found out sebi is planning to launch its own fx trading platform this year, that will be awesome

Hi

You won't be having good FX broker in India as it is illegal to trade non INR currency pairs in India. So if you get any Indian Forex brokers, definitely they will be operating from offshore heaven and dodgy. It is better to avoid

there is no fx broker based in our country ...and moreover CFDs are not a exchange traded derivatives , so has to be traded OTC ..and most of 98% brokers out there is Market Makers and Dealing Desk model ...meaning - you will face conflicts of interest ...there are mainly 2 types of brokering model in Fx industry...A books and B books...most of MM and DD are b book type of business which is prone to file bankruptcy,,,,if u want to trade fx, trade with a books ...like ECN brokers..they dont have conflicts of interest , and during 2015 SNB pegging...most of market making companies shut down in over night...so be with good guys (a book) if u want to trade longer in this field
