not that i know to much about AI, but for now i think is more Artificial and less intelligent. i don't play poker but i understend the anology to markets and is very close and i think markets are more complex than poker or maybe i'm lying my self.

not necessairly. trading can be super simple: is buy and hold or trading breakouts complex ?

In poker simple strategies don't work unless you play online with newbies.

you should definitely try it.

What an interesting thread! Where would you recommend one to start? I am reading from the beginning. Is it wise to read through the whole thread? Would you recommend starting elsewhere?

Hi Happyman :-)

The thread has evolved over time. IMO I would start at post 360 onwards. In particular look at the content describing portfolio compilation. The system itself is simply a means to an end...albeit a pretty powerful system. The secret sauce for this approach in generating sustainable returns actually lies in how you diversify and risk weight your portfolio. :-)

....and listening to music while you read is a necessity.

Yep H. That book is a cracker. While it applies to Futures, it's application is universal amongst all liquid markets.....and don't let them tell you that Forex is not a trending liquid market. Lots of detail in that book to help you compile some robust powerful beasts. One of my favorites as it provides applicable examples as opposed to rhetoric and fluff.

Food for thought - The Influence of Time with Randomness

Consider how diversification allows for ensemble averages as opposed to non-diversified systematic application leading to time decay. Now apply this to FX and the percentage of long term successful traders. You might be able to see some of the wood for the trees.

Diversification allows for the influence of outliers to influence average outcomes.
