Hey Cititon,

For what it's worth, he mentions in a couple of his videos that if you are trading outside of market hours you should probably look at a lower tick interval like 89 ticks or a lower time frame like 1 minute charts to replicate open market hour frequency.
I believe he mentioned that the expectation still plays out with the same probability because order flow is order flow.
A couple of his session videos also mention that news is just viewed as volatility. It can either get you to your profit target quicker or take you to your stop loss quicker. Nothing to fear if you keep up the frequency of your order flow and don't over leverage.

Very nice! I’ll just add that nothing really says that it is not good to trade outside of regular market hours. Just understand that there is less liquidity and inconsistent PA. Keep your targets realistic and trade the order flow that is there.

Thank you Mr Pip for all you have done here.

I've been a long time lurker and I apologise for not being able to add much to your thread. But following along with your lessons and advise (and others here in your thread) I have managed to turn around 4 years of loosing into the the last 3 months of break even. I feel that what I have learned here is making a substantial difference and I can see just what I need to do to go from break even to profit.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Could anyone here list which patterns can turn into other patterns?
E.g a butterfly can turn into a crab pattern.

And does this also mean that a crab pattern is generally more reliable than a butterfly pattern, since it can't "turn" into another pattern but just "fail" ?

Hello bippo, I would not be doing you any good if I just answer your question without being a bit more critical. This won't be a long winded answer with examples and detailed ratios, that would take too long. In short, your question touches on very complex variables. I for one enjoyed the patterns that stay within their XA legs. To be they are better structured and and better landmarks. These include the Gartley, Bat as my personal favorites. The pattern all have a pretty defined percentages of success but in all honesty these percentages vary significantly from Trader to Trader. This is not the patter's fault but more on an individual trader and how he qualified the pattern to begin with. Did the pattern have proper ratio values? Did the pattern have a proper anchor leg? Does the pattern fit the order flow.

On a separate note I must mention the one thing that gets traders in trouble. Whether you are new to trading or a veteran. Know the parameters of your trade. What this means is: What are you trading? The parameters of that entry is what you need to concern yourself with. If I'm trading a Gartley and I have a beautiful entry I am out of that trade once the Gartley fails I do not care what it might morph into. It is not what I am trading so I get out. Traders must understand that once the conditions that placed you in that trade are no longer there, You must get out via rescue or graceful exit if you have not been stopped out. I hope this helps. The last thing and I'm sorry to put it like this. Trading is a serious business you should not be trading what you do not know. Asking the forum what patterns can morph into others tell me you have not prepared for the task of trading these yet. Don't take this post in a non constructive way but I am acting in your best interest.
