I was watching this zone yesterday as well, but I didn't know where to put my SL as to me it seems like there was a CP to the left, and placing the SL above the CP would have been too wide. After you posted your screen I looked at it again and saw a nice SR Flip Zone which would have been nice for a trade entry.
I can see where you entered your trades, but I can't see where you might have placed your SL.

Helo ppl, can any skilled RTM trader or anyone please explain these failed engulfs on usdchf monthly chart, maybe i am missing something{image}
I'm not a skilled RTM trader, but maybe it has to do with these two kinks.
In the first case I would argue that we don't have any information to the left, so both kinks could be important, thus we might not have an engulf.
I'm not so sure about the second one. Maybe after the engulf price has reached its target already

The only thing you are missing is the type of question you are asking. Change your question and maybe you will find something new that will change the way you look at the charts.
Just don't forget that you need liquidity to move the market.

As it's a monthly chart way back in time, I don't really have the data easily available to look into it in detail. Yes, liquidity can be found by taking price above swing highs on the way down and the question could probably be "why did price turn down at levels these 'engulfs' hit?"
I'm glad ahdat is still here. I wanna ask question but I know we as usual at different understanding. By the way show your already reached target position (setup)... Please... Hehhe
If you want to learn to read price:
1. Take all the charts in this forum, study and draw them in your own charting software
2. practice what you learned in forex tester or a practice account.
3. Then do it again and again.
Every time you do it you'll learn something new. That's really it. At some point you'll be consistently profitable and be kinda bored. Then you dont have to worry about price reading anymore, just psychology.
I missed this trade at the very top of the move last week, because i hesitated, even after seeing confirmation, which is probably something like 30R. Im glad at least i got something from it.
