flash crash surely is a different animal altogether than any normal event, for one, part of the spike has no liquidity is any at all, and very well be some additional liquidity provider/broker game involved too...you can look up some posts on the 3rd Jan flash crush and see how broker to broker the chart prices were off on pairs, often 100s of pips...that seems fishy, the least to say.

while lower timeframe levels are usually insignificant enough, and most of the time a M15 or even a H1 target can be discarded when come into play,
i believe from the higher timeframes, levels as week's, month's or years highs and lows worth to handle differently.
in this instant for GJ, if the flash crush as a "fake event" ignored for a moment, the next obvious significant level on D1/W1 view is certainly the 2017 low.
and low and behold, the price gravitated there,
with a quick move thrusted thru it just about 4-5 pips, and reversed a minute later.
somehow the same time the H1 TF suggested that GJ is in the pressure zone, the M15 suggested very much the same,
and the M1 TMA happened to agree with all the above too.
in my vocabulary it is almost as good a trade as it gets, and certainly something i consider to be a high probability entry.
(not a small part bcos the other filters - George posted that list before- agreeing with the above, too).
the trade worked out well.
as for the exit, everyone can decide to themselves what suit them best,
for me, i am a scalper, so i tend to leave lots of pips on the table, and was the case here, too.
but it is not the point, bcos what matters i got what i came for, ie. a very decent profit out from this setup,
and ready to see if the day present something else later.

given the amount of people with SD syndrome (as we refer to them in Italy) that populate FF and unfortunately recently this thread, for the benefit of all I wanted to share the following from the book (The black swan) that Mr D recommended to read during podcast 1 with George. I hope it can open some closed minds out there and give additional positive energy to those who genuinely want to learn:

I think the quote is a great summary of what I have been through in my life in my research for the truth. I am an engineer with an MBA brainwashed hard by the "so called" education system. It took me years to overcome my convictions and pride and listen to so-called "un-educated" people who knew way more than I did in many fields. The forex journey hasn't been any different and again "hard brainwashing" at play from "educated" gurus all over the place.

Everyday I thank God I stumbled on this thread and I want to say thank you to all the "open minded" people who take the time to reply to my "obvious" questions.

And cashed my 10pips this morning on my demo from the GBPJPY...courtesy of the learnings from this thread.

no offense. I am just lost to visualize how could a education in the field of engineering be brainwashed? We are living and breathing thru the tangibles of just about anything around us in any engineering discipline supported by long standing proven principles and techniques which are also supported by facts, data and practical experiences and not just book knowledge. I can understand MBA could brainwash as the entire capitalistic economic engine is a giant brainwashing machine. I am glad I opted for Masters degree in computer science after my bachelors degree in the same discipline and when it comes to what I learnt, there is simply zero ounce of brainwashing involved. In order to graduate, we have to apply what we learnt by doing focused projects. Perhaps, you used the term metaphorically to convey the theme and context of this thread and didn't actually mean what you learnt in engineering and applied in your professional career thus far was a big fat lie.

Veefx you are right but there are lies everywhere also in Engineering (Tesla, Townsend Brown to name a few).
My take is that in all the fields there is something that must work to buy people's TRUST and then it gets wrapped up in the official story the system wants you to believe.
If you rewind to 30 years ago you wouldn't say the same about MBAs and capitalism. So my question is:"what do you believe you know that you actually don't know as per your experience to date?"

now back to further learning!

2. regarding your 1 minute entry, did the price reach your pressure zone when it broke above the day's high?

Yes. That was what some people are confused about when George said not all line should be deleted most especially those lines around Herd mentality. If price spike it with some few pips and came back leaving it as a neck there is high probability it will hold again.

If check some of George's charts and Andy you see it. For a line to be deleted, it has to be a clear through clearout. Examples are every where on the chart.

You have been more than generous with your time. It really is such a physically demanding mission you have undertaken. In this day and age, it would not be a surprise if people are unable to find someone in their OWN personal life who has done what you done. The members are really blessed.

If a trader is pretty sick at the moment for taking a Long, then they haven't got their planning right with the trade.
What would your assessment be for this call to have failed?

Price definitely hit the TMA, had broken the HM, so for me, its an entry Long.
The trade as it stands has has gone against me so far max 23.3 pips, so if someone was using a 5 pip stop then yep, not good, and then again someone using a 50 pip stop, no issues.
However before heading into draw down I could have closed for +9 and almost zero draw down.

In answer to one of your questions, after I had shown the chart, I did say this in Post 4466 as I knew I could potentially take some flack.

My concern at the moment is they may target the Low from January.
Either again the usual manipulation under fast news spike, or the Algo will just work its way down there as its been doing of late.
They spiked it before, again maybe too obvious.
If they do go for it, then they may just do it under normal conditions.


Before taking the trade I had a plan, grid/hedge as I always do, if price did not go in my favour.
So far I have not added a hedge or grid to the existing trade. Fortunately I do not have to baby sit the trade.

If you have seen a few of these trades go wrong it would be worth placing them up on the thread, that way we could critique the entry.
My view of this method is that it is no worse than any other method, and I have found it significantly better than most, if not all that I have come across.

At the moment I am happy with the position and the call.

Wow George!

I have been taking a break from trading recently due to personal circumstances. Now I have come back to see I have missed so much, time to get studying finally and it looks like I have a lot to learn and go through. Thank you to obviously George for been so kind and generous with his time and efforts to help those of us who are blind to see. I am still blind by the way, but hoping to change that.

I would also like to thank all of the constant posters in this group and with all your varied levels of understanding, its helps me believe I too can learn and hopefully trade successfully in the future.

I shall try and do my bit from now on and contribute to this group. Baby steps first though, as I have a habit of overloading my brain and it has an adverse effect. I am always trying to run before I can walk, hence why I am probably still in my current situation.
