Version 1.80 released (I updated Post 1). In this version an Experimental Currency Strength Meter is added to the EA.

I'm late to the party with this thread.
I'm just now trying to make the EA work.
I'm enclosing a screen shot of my settings.
I had the time set for 12:20 chart time. I had pressed the BUY/SELL button.
12:20 came and went and nothing happened.
The "last known broker time" never advanced from 12:09 which was the time I added the EA to the chart.
What did I do wrong?
I'm sure I made a stupid mistake.

Hi billbss,

It seems that the EA didn't receive any ticks after you have changed the input settings. Please check your MT4's Expert tab to see if there is any error caused the EA to crash or something? I will try to reporduce this error on my MT4 and come back to you when I have more info about this problem.

I got it working.
1. There was a divide by zero error in the CSM that seemed to mess it up.
2. I changed to the previous version (without the CSM)
3. I found I was using the wrong time. I had assumed the EA wanted chart time. In my case it wanted chart time - 2.
The screenshot shows the only settings that let it work. I'm good with that. I can use it.

I made $150 on the AUD GDP. Thank you.
Couple of questions.
If both trades are active how do you ever get into profit or loss so the EA will close the trades? I let the EA initiate the trades and did the rest manually. Is there any other way?
Which time frame do you check for correlation and currency strength?

Great to hear that you made profits using this EA.

As written in Post 1,

5. Net Take Profit (money):
- When net profit becomes greater than this value, the EA automatically closes both positions.
6. Net Stop Loss (money):
- When net profit becomes less than negative of this value, the EA automatically closes both positions.

The other way it to close the basket manually using the buttons of the EA.

The correlation is calculated based on D1 data. The currency strength calculations are complex, I use both price (M1~H1) and tick volume.

How can you have net profit or net loss with the hedge still in place? The net should be roughly zero - one pair in profit and the opposite pair in loss.

I'm beginning to see. Sometimes the pairs don't move in the opposite direction like they're supposed to and don't counter balance each other.
It takes awhile to get used to this.

Let's have an example. The main symbol is EURUSD and the hedge symbol is USDCAD. After opening two positions, if we call the profit on EURUSD, Pm and the profit on USDCAD, Ph, the net profit is just the sum of them,

Pnet = Pm + Ph.

For example, if Pm is equal to +150 USD (in profit) and Ph is equal to -90 USD (in loss), the net profit becomes +60 USD (in profit),

Pnet = 150 - 90 = 60.

There is no guarantee that if one pair (EURUSD) is in profit, the other pair (USDCAD) be in the same amount of loss!

From the log data it looks there is a problem with reading GBPJPY values. Try to open a chart of GBPJPY (for example, M1).

Hi Math,

Just found this thread and your EA looks very promissing - thank you very much for sharing it

I have one problem with running it on build 1170, ver 4

When I add EA to chart with settings below it would give thew following error:

I know it was previously discussed in hear, so I tried to input date and time 1 hour ahead of mt4 time even though Auto trade was disabled, but it still did not work. I tried next year the same problem



Can you kindly help to solve it

Hi, I will look at this problem and possibly recompile it with the latest build of MT4.
