mladen wrote a very good piece back in the days of Forex-TSD about the TMA/TMA True indicators not being a proper Triangular Moving Average at all but merely a 56 LWMA with 2 bands of ATR around it.

Every generations always think that they are the smartest, fastest, biggest, richest, strongest etc. But history always give us prove the opposite, there always 'better than before' in next generations to come, so simply 'short cuts' exist. Try to tell 'The Quants" to draw horizontal lines manually, then you will ended as weird creature.

So, now please be honest, what do you think about this yesterday GBP/USD M1 in relation with TMA bands (level 5) and session range ratio (especially during Euro/London range - and the repeated blue rectangle under it).

I believe what Bro @Robots4me/Steve, do is the right path, but every time he approaching 'the right box' then everyone shout at him to go to another directions to get 'wrong boxs', mostly because he really honest and want to 'reveal' the truth. And the truth is, this methodology could translate into automation process, and if it happen, then this will go beyond author control area. So you must understand the 'evading' process, to keep this 'limited'.

To explaining this methodology in 1 post is possible, and I'm sure there's no text problem about it, or one video or like FractalFreak do, so many videos.. lol.

So, liquidity gap is important, but it will move Steve to one step closer to the correct path, if this LG not important, how come FractalFreak Suggest VEEFX to look about 'Transient Zone' where the main discussion in that 'ancient' thread was LG.

btw, whatever direction you will lead this thread, I will try to support you Bro Steve.

if you believe in indicator (or single indicator signal-derived strategy) then I urge you to objectively investigate why a Reverse RR strategy CANNOT be turned into a positive RR strategy by taking a reverse signal. No need to respond and clutter this thread.... just a little side project to open your eyes.

Look at the average win and average loss. if I reverse the signal that my indicator gave, I must have a very positive expectancy system right? quite to fucking opposite !

@VEEFX -- I understand. Perhaps due to my sarcasm you missed my point.

@George et al are quite adamant that indicators are useless. I'm serious. Go check @Georges thread. Every post rants about indicators are useless. They've lectured me many time to stop wasting time developing indicators. Again -- no indicators, no exes, no open source. Just study and screen time.

So -- it's not an issue about them withholding indicators. Rather -- it's whether or not to use indicators. And the answer is NO, or YES.

I believe we live in the 4th dimension and the "NO, or YES" answer doesn't make sense to me. So, now I'm guessing there is yet another dimension where they trade and "NO, or YES" does make sense. That's the best I can figure...

I rarely post, but this is just too entertaining to not put in my 2cents. I like to look a much broader view before I drill down to the specifics.

I was watching the other thread since the beginning, and immediately became skeptical of a "professional" trader misusing well defined terms in order to inflate individual trade returns. Now, using Newspeak (playground) for support/resistance or ranging/consolidation levels is not necessarily misleading, but using the term Basket Trade (multiple instruments) and separately adding the pip count of each trade entry of the same instrument in order to show inflated pip returns IS deceitful. That is simply price averaging, and no professional trader would mix the two as this does not accurately reflect the money management side of the methodology. And guess what, if this is not a hobby then eventually we all must use our capital, requirements, and returns as part of the equation for any strategy.

I pointed this out in the other thread, but of course there was no reply.

Lets also note the EA that is making pips from part on Georges Strategy is also based on a TMA, so it getting its parameter coding from some sort of TMA condition plus other filters.

And if these Indicators are builtin to the EA they can also be used manually with a set of Rules

It's a shame no one liked your post in the other thread. basket harvesting of pips is just that. That is why I like to focus on Average win/loss per trade to see the long term merits of any strategy stat.

That's the conclusion I've come to as well. I've got an idea what the multipliers are but I think that's where the backtesting comes into it. The multipliers may be different for each different pair

Looks like a BB strategy, doesn't it? But be careful - you might overfit the data ... I mean: Give me a relatively short time period and I'll find the optimal MA period and standard deviation settings for a BB so that buys at lower BB cross make most win/less loss for that period. George used True TMA.
Some people spent a long time promoting this LWMA version (that I have attached) as being the same.
So i took a quick look at it, it seems to place the TMA bands in the correct place.
Just have to change the parameters to suit.
I built my own version of the the TMA into my EA, using info that I sourced using Google.
I am not a coder but it didn't take too long to work out.
My version places the TMA bands in exactly the same position as Georges and the LWMA version and all I am interested in is where is price in relation
to an area of interest, ADR and the TMA.

Yes, the TMA used in the EA works from exactly the same data as Georges True TMA and the LWMA.

There isn't anything within the EA that isn't available to a manual trader, no other filters than a break of an area of interest, be that a target or herd mentality, entry into 1min TMA and current ADR. That is it.

There is no secret sauce, no extra step that gets so conveniently left out in so many threads.

The pip count that George shows comes from a freely available indicator.
No pips are added or data massaged, what you see is what the EA achieved.... unless of course the indicator is faulty then there would be a huge amount of people showing the wrong pip count.

No nothing to do with BB, it uses custom indicators that my son did the calculations for he is a Mathematician and works for one of the Big 4 as a Statistician, so he likes working with numbers
