I am bearish XAUUSD. Here's why, from a technical perspective.

Price action on the daily time frame is disposing southward. The market has moved below a descending trendline (chocolate) from the high of April 2018 and price action is now respecting an inner trendline (blue). The candlesticks printed since July 2018 have mainly been ‘wicky’ and resulted in the formation of a mini-triangular pattern (magenta), which was broken down on Wednesday last week. There was a bearish follow-up on Thursday last week but bulls intervened on Friday to take price action northward, retesting the base of the triangle (magenta). We may see a brief northward move or sideways operation early this week before bears regain control of the market. The horizontal support around 1200.00/1195.00 is likely to be exposed should bears garner the momentum for their drive.

Although I am bearish XAUUSD, I will not enter the market yet. I will wait for a pullback of price action to an area of value on the H4 or D1 time frame before looking for a sell trading opportunity.

I am bearish EURUSD, here's why.

On the H4 time frame, the most recent price action is under the influence of bulls and we may see them take price action further northward. A descending trendline (magenta) is at play and may be an immediate barrier to bulls. However, a major horizontal resistance, which may be a natural target of bulls, is the 1.15690 area. The area is in confluence with the 61.8 Fib retracement of the most recent downward swing on the H4 time frame and it is a potential area for a southward turnaround. Thus, should price action fail to turn southward earlier, the 1.15690 area is likely to see a significant southward turnaround.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

I'm bearish EUR GBP to USD, reasoning Elliott wave count, last target hit on gbp 4 hr was 1.44, next is so rediculously low I don't want to say it. I use fractals and fibs as a main rule.

I am a swing trader and I use a pull-back, trend following method. I am guided by a mean reversion system combined with using S/R zones from the W1/D1 time frame(s).

I will be looking to sell the AUDUSD this week. Here's why, from a technical perspective.

On the daily time frame, price action is operating in a descending channel (blue). Last week Wednesday, the market printed a bearish pinbar around a minor horizontal resistance (0.72910) but it lacked a proper follow-through. On Friday, bulls attempted a northward pullback but they were hindered by bears, resulting in the printing of an insignificant candlestick. We may see another attempt at a northward move by bulls in the early part of this week. Bulls may want to retest the horizontal resistance around 0.72910, or the channel resistance, before a southward turnaround. The monthly pivot around 0.72730 is also a possible initial target of bulls. At any rate, the technicals still favour a bearish disposition of the market.

I am short-term bearish XAUUSD as price action on the daily time frame appears to be due for a corrective southward retracement. Here's my technical perspective. The daily time frame shows a market with a bullish sentiment. Price action has rejected an outer ascending trendline (red) and is respecting a steeper, inner ascending trendline (blue), indicating an increase in bullish momentum. The trendline angle appears to be too steep and we may have price action head southwards for a corrective operation, perhaps to retest a value area before a northward continuation. Such an area is the horizontal support around the 1304.00 area. Besides, price action is presently located around the 78.6 Fib retracement of the downward swing from the high of April 11, 2018 to the low of August 16, 2018; which is a technical reason for a potential southward retracement.

The fact that I am short-term bearish XAUUSD does not mean blind entry into the market. I will be looking for a sell trading opportunity if it presents itself at a value area on a daily closing basis.

A few members have visited this thread since I last posted. I am a swing trader who trades a few times a week but this thread will benefit from more contributors. I can see some of the recent posts are off topic and posters should try to adhere to the rules. I have been bearish GBPUSD for quite a while because the weekly outlook is largely bearish. We may see some retracements but the bigger technical disposition still favours sellers.

I have been looking for a sell trading opportunity on the EURUSD this week but it does not present itself for a desirable R:R. A retracement to the 1.13660 area, a significant weekly resistance zone, and a daily bearish close or setup early next week will pique my interest.

I am bearish AUDUSD because the technical outlook on the weekly time frame favours bears. However, I will not enter a sell trade until there is a significant northward retracement of price action to an area of value. Such an area is the 0.69720/0.70300 zone.
