Ratios & Harmonics: a Different Way to Trade

I am also watching the daily chart for an opportunity to get back into my long term portfolio.
I have lightened up my retirement holdings to 20 % stocks, 10% gold and 70% cash.
Any thoughts?

Opened down today with some followthrough off the open. I was entering fairly late on the down move but felt we still had potential to go lower. Price action struggled to make WNSL's so I covered my position for a small base hit. Plenty of other opportunities today that I found reasons not to take.

Three trades on the YM today.

1) The most harmonic swings today were 150 pts long, so have been looking for opportunities to participate while not risking beyond my 2%. Entered short on the 1.0 correction of the immediate swing (0.38 of the most harmonic swing). Stopped out of -23.
2) Entered again at the 0.5 correction of the most harmonic swing. Didnt have much structure, only fib, but felt confident with the weakness that buyers were exhibiting. Taken out for +43 on trail.
3) This was a pure greed/revenge play as my previous trade was up +70 before stopping out at +43. Exited on realizing the mindset that the trade came from for -3.

+17 for the day.

An hard day for me.. I was able to predict most of the mover but the correction weren't often deep enough for me to enter.
I took many BE, maybe too many and a loss. The loss was definitely avoidable, there was no rotation or anything like that. Price was actually getting stronger against me.

It is what it is...tomorrow will be a better day..

Hey traders. I have been doing some testing with longer term trades and I had some questions. Is the strategy the exact same for long term (in this case, 1597 tick YM) as it is for short term? Is there anything I should know about this? Here is my current longer term analysis and SIM position.

Only one trade on the YM today, found the swings to be a little out of my price range.

Yesterday was an interesting day and a learning experience for sure. The first trade really just didn't make any sense. AB=CD correction of a bearish swing and I took a long. Very strange and not sure what I was thinking.

Second trades entry made much more sense to me. Bears slowed down into the bottom, we got a bullish impulse that broke immediate structure and I took the next entry at the 50%. My exit on this trade left much to be desired but I am still ironing out my plan for trailing. On this trade it would have been advantageous to just trail each candle. Oh well. no such thing as a perfect system.

Is it right or wrong, we have a NSL (1), then correction, then we have expectation failure (2), then we have a NSH (3) and our main swing changing from 1a-1 to 1-3.

Hi, your analysis seems to be correct, except for #2, they expectation did not fail there. He failed when he passes the last Lower High (1A).

I am hesitating about the double Bottom. Below picture shows my question. Can I consider that bottom NSL?. the HL is broke or it is just a local high? the main down trend expectation is still valid or not?

Hi, about 1 we would like to see a close above the tail, to call it a NSL. To me the market has just test the area.

Today's trades on the YM,

Was rather out of sync with the market today, could feel it from the start of the session.

1) Entered at 0.38 of the long swing, no structure. Underlying feelings of FOMO. exited at the SL -28.
2) Entered again on the swing at the 0.68 with some structure, got taken out at SL for -43.

-71 for the day.

Tomorrow will be a new day!
