Or you could go by the adage that good artists copy, great artists steal .

I always figured Picasso got that spot on, though I prefer Stravinsky's ''A good composer does not imitate; he steals.''

Pretty much all the methods here have their roots elsewhere and have morphed into the beasts they are now through trial, error and statistical analysis, so stones and glass houses and all that.

As such, adding an ma would have been the next best thing since sliced bread if it made it better. In this case, it doesn't. All Claudia, Billy and myself were saying was that - in our opinion - you'd be wasting your time. Purely because we've all tried it out already. Perhaps I certainly could have been a little less brusque.

I'm going to go find a chart and show you something...

If you were looking to add an ma, then have a look at using what is quite possibly the best box-breakout method out there, Claudia's or DZ get a bye, lol.

It looks like it may have missed some, got some and did it keep you out of enough bad trades to make it worthwhile? You'd need to check.

However, if it does look like it works - and you'd have to assume that the author - forexhard - would have considered an ma as an option (tbh I can't remember, it's been a while since I read the thread) - then why did he not incorporate it?

It was because of this that I transferred it over to the Frankenbreak concept. It was also because forexhard didn't use it on his, that I stopped trying to make it work on mine. I figured he must know what he was doing.

Just fyi, I also added S+D Zones and I'd say that perhaps that may be a better place to look. Or maybe not...

It would have been slim pickings for Dead Zone set-ups today. I had to go waaaaaayyyyy out into left-field to find a decent qualifier.

Hi F, i am not not quite sure of your post , meaning , i don't get it ?
i speak for myself but i am sure the others will agree.
i help people for the love of it regarding Forex, OR i help people after i made a lot of money,lol
i am not a trader as such, i see things written in FF and then i google it because i do not understand.
i am good at collating Stats and using them and they work in Forex as well as all things in life. (Maths)
i seek no reward but enjoy all the people here and i listen to anything they say, and i have learned a lot in here.
i once put an MA on my charts because it looked good.
i could dedicate a post to them , maybe. We have 3 people here who trade well without them ....

Tell you the truth. i am trading seriously for my Greek friend, but i am trading Cable 00-00 4 hour break for my friend, (the one from last few weeks\) he is concentrating on e/u and e/g and actually will be trading for people and i am trading Cable for him.

Morning Guys Took Cable short on 00-00 4h break after small retrace, I was aware of the round number so wanted a little room, price did close below it but immediately closed above, 1 min chart, the 5 min chart shows no close below only tails so closed trade for +3 points not the 5 I wanted but happy enough, there is news approaching a round number to break and its Friday L.O.L. SO not too shabby.

Cable 00-00 4 hour range. High = 13019..... Low = 13002. Range is 17.
The adr for today = 87.
The High has Broken and Failed.
i am currently short plus a counter.

Uk time.
what ever the highest point of today is, if you minus 87 from it,that will be an approximation area of today's adr.
If you take today's Lowest point and add 87 to it, this will be an approximation of today's adr high.
87 for Cable is very low.
adr can/ will be adjusted as the day unfolds.

At 07-32 Cable high so far today was/is 13020. Low so far was/is 12998.
So 13020-87 = 12933 this is adr low area.
12998 + 87 = 13085.. this is adr High.
As the day moves, this High/ Low can/ will be adjusted.
i use the 00-00 4 hour range as guidance.
We have news and we have the 00.
lets see how it unfolds.

I won't be trading at all today unless I get a little taste in the arvo, as I have a vet check up first thing and then have to be out-and-about elsewhere after that.

Add to that the fact that, yep, it's Friday!
