Now for a dumb question: in the EA settings, under MovingAverageType, is it the usual progression eg. 1=Close, 2=Open, 3=High, 4=Low, 5=Median Price (HL/2)...etc?

It's not been a good week for the EA or the strategy. We've had some strong trends on many pairs this week and as its always been one of this strategies weaknesses there were some losing trades.

I was analyzing some of the results and settings that I'm using and made some updates to the ADR TS settings that I use which hopefully should help improve the results and secure more profits.

I've set up 3 new charts for H1, H4 and D1 to do a little comparison between the TF and see how they go. I've removed all CHF & NZD pairs as I really don't like trading them.

Exciting times!

@chrisdk2017 I just noticed something peculiar with a new order that should not have opened. It seems to have opened an order at an invalid pivot S138.

In the EA settings SR138 is set to false so it should not trade. The price is also more than 20 pips from the S100 pivot.

Can you take a look at the pivot code to see perhaps why this trade was validated by the EA? Thanks.

Yes, you're right, strong trends this week causing huge drawdowns. I had to look back at the 4hrs timeframe too and realized, it would'nt have entered some of those loosing trades. But i can still see chf and nzd on your charts

Looks like H4 is more stable and gives fewer losses than H1 even with the S138 bug.

The S138 bug might have saved the EA this time but who knows.

I am thinking of making another EA which can catch extreme movements like we just saw.

The goal is to be able to run this on low leverage accounts because averaging in requires higher leverage or bigger accounts.

So. do. set. file. Open the currency pair. Insert EMA . I select the period of EMA. I check the EMA settings on other currency pairs. For H1 . AU, EU, GU, NU, UC, EG _ EMA 24 / few false signals / . For H 4 . AU, EU, GU, NU, UC, EG, AJ, EJ, GJ, UJ, NJ, CJ _ EMA 12 / few false signals. / / signals are rarely generated : 1 signal 1-3 months / / good for medium-term trading / . D 1 _ EMA 6 / testing / . on other currency pairs. my broker has a big spread . for example / EN 16 points = 160 pips /

Yes, i believe H4 is more stable than 1hr, But i hope you'll fix the S138 bug because this EA has a lot of potentials too.

@chrisdk2017 thanks for putting your time and effort to help improve the EA.

In this latest version some small bug fixes were made to the weekly pivot calculations and the ADR TS settings.

I've also uploaded my personal current set files for H1, H4, and D1, so feel free to experiment with them and find your own best setting.

Sorry to ask, but how do we use:

Which timeframe which Pivot time corresponds? 1H timeframe for example with daily Pivot or 1H Pivot?

Is timeframe defined by the chart the EA is attached to?

And what is CssTf timeframe? How to set? Same as Pivot?

Pivot is by default weekly.

CssTf is for currency strength, just ignore it, I think the results will be worse than without enabling Css.

Ok, I know that default is weekly. But what If I would like to tradeon 1H timeframe? Does that require 1H timefrmae for Pivot? Will need to change for example, maximum distance from pivot?

I just noticed, css cannot be disabled, only you can select any TF.
