Hi, today I got freeze template, the reason I noted because I was watching EURCAD going up and got arrows down, my eax was working perfectly only the indicator.

this is not a criticism, just asking if someone has the same situation.

after get inside the indicator and reload , back to normal

This Problem is sorted.

THe PINs didn't work well on a CFD Chart. After I removed them from the CFD Chart and placed them on a Forex Pair, they worked on all Dashboards.

just monitoring from last night , and freeze again ( strange behaviour )

The S/R with Fib levels is not working. Can you help me check?

I have been testing this Angleator+ADX+RSI+CCI setup for a few weeks.

1. Angleator PIN for price action.
2. ADX PIN for trends.
3. RSI and CCI modules to confirm we are in the zone (not under/oversold)

The equity chart shows the last 6 weeks during which I have not changed the setup.

Feel free to take this and try variations ... but please do not run down the street shouting eureka until you have a few weeks of results. By all means share your setups, and then we can compare results at the beginning of July.

Since you mentioned the RSI CCI as filters in your system, maybe you got any plans for making separate MTF pins based on both of these indicators? That would be a great thing indeed! I am using them for my [R]everse system at very narrow and sensitive settings such as M15 RSI2 90/10 and M15 CCI16 130 and combining them with your amazing tool's TDI various modes in M1-M5 it gives very interesting results as it catches local bottoms and highs with very low DD. Of course these should be filtered with Muxed ASCTrend pins as well but I think the MTF versions of RSI CCI may give new opportunities and provide a new playing ground Thank you for your wonderful tools which are free of charge at all!

Re: some PINs freezing.

Some of my pins use the M1 candle of the chart to trigger a one minute refresh. Therefore, you need to use the PIN on a symbol that trades 24x5. Some symbols (e.g. metals, stock markets) do no trade 24x5, during the down periods there will be no new M1 candles and the PIN will not update. This is why Danapster correctly identified that the PINs usually work ok an a forex pair, but freeze on metals and indices).

In future versions I will change the refresh mechanism to be independent of the chart and fix this problem.

Re: slow PINs

From what I understand, each MT4 chart uses 2 CPU threads.
Thread #1 provides compute resources (CPU/RAM) for the EA on the chart
Thread #2 provides compute resources for all the indicators on the chart

If you place a several indicators on the same chart they are all competing for the same compute resources. The challenge with PINs is that they each count as multiple indicators on the same chart. E.g. if the PIN is set for 28 pairs it needs to call the indicator routine 28 times. For an MTF pin, then you need to multiply that by the number of time-frames. e.g. 5 time-frames = 28x5 = 140 indicators.

If you have multiple PINs on one chart you can see how this adds up!

Also, the EA can be using its own indicator resources (e.g. the various indicator modules in EAX). I do not know if indicator calls from the EA also place a load on Thread #2 (in addition to the EA Thread #1), but from what I have read, there are fewer issues when the PINs are placed on a separate chart from the EA. This suggests that the EA and indicators are indeed competing for indicator compute resources.

Trade operations:
MT4 uses a single thread for trade operations (opening and closing trades). This is why you will often see EAX or even the whole MT4 freeze up when its closing a large basket. Each symbol you have in trade explorer also needs resources to receive price updates and other data from the broker. The more symbols that are open the more resources are needed. MT4 needs to prioritize these updates (the indicators cannot update until the price data has been received). If you find that MT4 is freezing up during busy market times (e.g. around London open. NY open, etc) this is because there is more trading activity and more price updates.

PIN Recommendations:

Firstly, check that the CPU and memory of your PC/VPS is ok. If you are running close to 100% CPU or memory, or if MT4 is freezing at busy market times, then the
recommendations below are not going to help. You need to reduce the load or get a bigger computer!

Recommendations:

1. Put PINs on a forex chart
2. Use a separate chart from EAX
3. If you need a lot of PINs, especially MTF PINs, split them across several charts

This is not a recent update but it seems to be missing from the thread so here it is again. This version corrected a bug with suffixed pairs.

I have checked this against v21.05 of the Currency Momentum Strength Meter and it appears to be working ok, but let me know if you find any problems.

Hi...has anyone ever made a PIN based on the high and low of previous candle (arrow up if close of current candle is higher than high of previous candle and vice versa)? TIA.

Hi... not that I am aware of ... but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Alternatively, if someone can demonstrate a profitable strategy based on this, then I will create a PIN.

Now that's a million dollar question ... why does any trading setup fail?

If you review the equity line (blue) in the chart I posted, you will see that last week was bleeding equity from the start. The week appears to have started with strong Angleator signals in one direction, which then changed to the opposite (it closes trades on a profit lock or if there is an opposite signal).

These are the pairs took a hit last week:


There were some strong sentiment swings last week. E.g. AUDJPY started to develop a bullish trend late on Wednesday, which was sustained until Thursday when it rapidly reversed into a an even stronger Bear trend. Similar reversals occurred on other pairs, e.g. GBPUSD at LO Monday.

So :

1. Is there something I could have used to filter out the bad entries? and/or
2. Is there something I could have used to close the trades earlier and limited the losses?
