Thank you for the offer but that sounds a lot like curve fitting to me of which I am no longer a fan. Besides, I am in Australia so London and New York are open when I am asleep which is the supposed recommended time to trade.

Here are a couple of currently running results started in the past couple of hours including HAS Swing Semafor and DM SD TS v1. As I see from my results and our collective discussions this week HAS and in particular HAS2 and HM240 timeframe has just been too slow to respond to ranging charts and a loss maker for me at least. 3) Given the number of potential trades that can be opened what DB/TS SL mechanism and range should we apply here?
4) When would be the best entry point; on a specific market open?

Any thoughts and suggestions would be most appreciated

Looking good especially on the DM SD TS, SL as a percentage of ADR is as good as you get, its dynamic to each currency, 35pips is the minimum SL that I think anyone should trade with on any system, how high one goes I am not too sure but JustuncleL mentioned that if it gets beyond 90pips they rarely come back. so somewhere between 35 and 90 for SLs. The exit is something I really struggle with which is why I am using a Global TP for all Trades (Using another trade manager, not free but I can show where to get it if you want, I don't sell it).

TP profit for me should be a % of the last 50 trades on a particular system for a particular currency, again ADR as a percentage is not bad either. If my TP is 50pips then I like to have a BE of 40pips, don't like trailing stops at all.

Thanks for the feedback excellent and more food for thought, also wondered best time to execute perhaps shortly after markets open Asia or London perhaps (?) As Pip Poppy highlighted this week has been full of unpleasant surprises waking up to the losses of HAS/HAS2 following Asia setup.

Attached also updated from earlier setup post #2783 starting shortly after London open; EQ/DD ratio breaks new ground for me helped by GBP this morning but of course its all about consistency.

Here are some results from the H1 using the last Swing and Semafor turning points and 100 pip TP and one and done for the day in the DB.
They took from 30 minutes to 2 hours to finish starting 1 hour and 2 minutes after the new day started on all 28 pairs.

I forgot to take a screen shot of Mondays but it was the same as the rest of the week.

Thank you Gene, so following an eventful week I now understand the old faithful HAS needs to be avoided in ranging markets instead leveraging Swing/Semafor or DM/SD with or perhaps without HM filtering from higher timeframes. Have an excellent weekend. All the best

Incidentally Gene, fellow traders although this may be a $1m novice question however do you use any of the market information supplied by the S9 toolkit or outside to determine current market conditions such as DB Total ADR vs CDR etc to determine whether we are in a trending or ranging market. I guess the simplest means is to view each of the 28 charts individually however would be nice to obtain a smart flag to help us choose the most suitable TS setup for the right condition. Cheers

The problem with ranging markets is that you don't know you're in one until you look left of the current price action.
So then you chop and change indicators and strategies to suit the ranging market and it will suddenly break out of it's range and you miss the boat.
That has been the trader's biggest problem since markets began and it is a problem that is not likely to be solved.
My setup has been going in and out of long / short baskets for the past couple of days for some serious drawdown.

Not on those but I am presently testing the same setups with M5, M15, M30, and H1 HM filters this week to see if I can get fewer trades and just the best trades.

Thanks Gene, just another one I can't seem to get a trigger from S9_DM_SD_TS_v1 on some of my accounts including VPS environment. I have copied all indicator files and trying to see what's possibly missing but can't resolve this one. Clearly this is an earlier version TS but does seem to work against DB 8x on most occasions. Are there any other files or dependencies I need to be aware of here? Cheers

Results from Monday. My testing this week is mostly centered on HAS+BO, dropping the slow HAS2 in favor of just trying to catch the significant swings up and down.

Hi Gene just a follow up on above and JustUncleL's earlier post I am finding a fair few scenarios where TS triggers are not finding their way to the DB. Haven't documented these however if it helps to take screen shots of all cases or collect specific data please let me know. This applies to different versions of TS and DBs. Thanks

UPDATE: would there be any reason for S9_SUP_DEM_BO_TS_v1 or S9_DM_SD_TS_v1 to stop generating signals after one or two successful runs?

Never had any problems with that TS, I see you are only allowing one trade per pair each day.

If it works on one account it should work on other accounts as well.

I have made some changes but the results are the same. I have removed HAS2 and the HM filter, tried and removed the Market filter but continue to get similar results regardless.

I have mostly poor results for Tuesday, with just a couple of winning setups, decided to change EL to 75/40 and add 100TP to all setups, I was getting too many small EL stops, then bring down the Basket SL to between 80 and 120:

Hi Folks, trying to get my head around the Basket Trading, never came across this before. Is this process on the right track?

  1. Set up a Basket of currencies from the DB by using either RSI, Correlation, Swing, HAS or TDI.
  2. Once your Basket of currencies is chosen on the DB and Named then you can trade either S9_Basket_trader_TS or S9 HAS_Basket_Trader_TS, or S9 Swing_Basket_TS on the basket of currencies on the offline chart.


Sound about right?
Which is the most popular way of setting up a Basket RSI, Correlation, Swing etc?

Renko Charts - I did set up Renko and as usual, Renko takes up a lot of resources but also there was mostly losses and doesn't seem to be worth it compared to the other DB systems
